Must be really frustrating when they can beat the best and then lose the next game. They are currently 10th which is where they finished the previous year.
You have to go back to 2016--2017 to find a season in which B. Mönchengladbach have failed to take any points off Bayern Munich. Since then, they have usually managed to beat Bayern at least once in the league every season.

Yes, just been reading that. He also includes Gibson and all three have been at the heart of our improvement both defensively and offensively. The clarity and consistency of Wagner's tactics have allowed the release of the FBs to support the attack. Millwall will be a tough test where their experience will be crucial.

What that says to me is that we now have players who can score exceptional goals and we now have a manager whose tactics enable them to do so. Bailey's conclusion is rather dubious though, given that the goals cited are only 5 of the 51 goals we've scored this season, 19 of those under Wagner. We don't depend on exceptional goals, but they do add another dimension to our play and at last we have midfielders who can add to the strikers' goals, making us far more difficult to defend against. If it also provides a "semblance of fun", that's just another bonus
You need to be able to score more of those low % goals in the premieship because the keepers are better. We also need goals from midfield than relying on 12 from Pukki and about 5 from the rest of the team combined
And we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that the xG data is wildly inaccurate at an individual level. It’s improving fast, as the data rushes in relentlessly, but it’s still (and will always be) imperfect, as well as best on an aggregated basis.
