Sunderland AFC confirms that the Stadium of Light Premier Concourse will reopen on a seasonal basis for the 2023-24 season. Current Season Ticket holders previously located in the Premier Concourse prior to its closure in 2016 will have a window of exclusivity to return to the stand, with blocks P1, P2, P3, P9, P12 and P13 reopening. The priority period will be open as follows: Starts: Monday 6th March, 12:00 Ends: Monday 13th March, 17:00 Current Season Ticket Holders previously housed in the Premier Concourse will be contacted directly via email to outline the next steps, so we ask you to please ensure that your email address is up to date within your e-ticketing account to ensure that the above communication is received. Supporters wishing to remain in their existing seat and not return to the Premier Concourse will not be required to take any further action. The North West Upper will remain closed, but if it reopens on a seasonal basis there will be a priority period for supporters previously housed in the stand to relocate. That’s a good move. Have been opening it in part for the last few games. Would be good if they could do something to encourage people into lower north stand And hopefully an announcement soon about what’s happening with the away fans
i was in the concourse for years before they shut it, so will go back you get out much quicker than where i am now and great view(them stairs though ! should put escalators in) and at £390 cheaper than this season i paid about £445 in the east stand. The thing is if we go up we will save a lot more will the prices go up further after the deadline?
You and your mate moved down together? I seem to remember a story of a fan upset with the closure, I can remember because it had hit him hard. Would explain your postings a tad.
The view from the concourse is superb, sat up there for a season before it closed. Would love to move back up but my dad wouldn’t be able to manage the steps.
Yep. Always thought it was a bit of an oversight not to have at least one lift going up there, even if it was reserved for those who couldn't walk up. Nightmare to retrofit though, so it's stairs for good.
