Excellent this week as usual, but the twist on the famous Motty line as a tribute to the great man is brilliant.
Well what a surprise "The Newcastle chairman, Yasir al-Rumayyan, has been described as “a sitting minister of the Saudi government” in a document submitted to a court in the US, raising fresh questions over the level of separation between the club’s ownership and the Saudi state. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) bought a controlling stake in Newcastle in October 2021, but the deal was only given the green light after the Premier League received “legally binding assurances” that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would not have any control over the club. Richard Masters, the Premier League chief executive, told the BBC in November 2021 that if his organisation found evidence there was state involvement in the running of the club “we can remove the consortium as owners of the club”." https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ment-sitting-saudi-arabia-government-minister
What puzzles me is Richard Masters, PL chief, saying this .. “We can remove the consortium as owners of the club." Does anyone know how that could evenbe possible, let alone workable..
I suspect he was chatting absolute ****, hoping to appease people for a little while hoping it would all blow over, as quickly as he logged in to his off shore banking account to look at all the zeroes!
Probably in the manner as with Abramovich. Severe restrictions put in place until they sell up, hopefully.
Was just going to say this. Probably use the same mechanism as used with Abramovich and put the club up for sale. Appoint someone to run the club while that happens and restrict transfers and other business and have a strict deadline. Any legal challenges could see the club suspended or kicked out of the league. Chelsea has set the precedent. If I was a mag, I'd personally be ****ting myself about anything unpleasant happening involving Saudi Arabia in case this happens.

The integrity of the Premier League needs highlighting over and over here. We all knew it was none existent but the mags deal and the 'legal assurances' the state weren't having any control when it's common knowledge that the fund buying it is state controlled! Now this! Bet they ignore it all though. Or come out with more bullshit!
It’s been as clear as day since the first bit of interest. We all know it and it ****ing stinks but they’ll be allowed to crack on. We don’t sing - **** the Mags MURDERERS for no reason…
What pisses me off is that investment fund is state controlled or not depending what suits the situation. It was ****ing obvious all along they were!
The difference is that the government were supporters of the actions against Ambramovich but they'll be against this. It's all politics.
Nit even the premier league!! How can you re,ivebthe owners of something. Isn’t that effectively stealing??
