So you've never heard of the Arab / Muslim / Islamic Conquests (all three terms are correct), Jackie? Perhaps this little illustration can shed some light on the dark recesses of your knowledge: please log in to view this image A soverign, independent Jewish state of Israel existed for a thousand years before the Romans exiled most of the Jewish inhabitants to the Diaspora. Nevertheless, there was always a constant Jewish presence in Israel and today it is the homeland to Jews from all over the globe, including the refugees from Arab and Islamic countries who were absorbed into the state and far outnumbered the Arab refugees who fled Israel in 1948. 78% of British Mandated Palestine was unilaterally carved-off to form the Arab Homeland of (Trans)Jordan - an apartheid state in which no Jew was allowed to own land or live in.
Only the UK ever went across the globe stealing land (no other nation in history has done that), picture is photoshoped
"It was apparently some Western wire service that mistranslated the phrase as ‘wipe Israel off the map’, which sounds rather more violent than calling for regime change. Since then, Iranian media working in English have themselves depended on that translation. One of the tricks of Right-Zionist propagandists is to substitute these English texts for Ahmadinejad’s own Persian text. (Ethan Bronner at the New York Times tried to pull this, and more recently Michael Rubin at the American Enterprise Institute.) But good scholarship requires that you go to the original Persian text in search of the meaning of a phrase. Bronner and Rubin are guilty disregarding philological scholarship in favor of mere propagandizing." http://www.juancole.com/2007/06/ahmadinejad-i-am-not-anti-semitic.html They rely on the same translation, they arent aware of exactly what the mistranslation is insinuating
Again it is a mis-translation of the same phrase Here is Ahmadinejad explaining his comments and denying any intention to destroy Israel "(David Pujadas) The fact that Iranâs position is disconcerting, one of the reasons is that Your Excellencyâs statements are to a large extent threatening. For instance, your assertion that Israel should be wiped from the map of the world, all these things have created some concern which has been reflected in the nuclear case too. (Ahmadinezhad) . . . Let me ask you this question: where is the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics now? Was it not wiped off (the map)? How was it wiped off? We have a totally humanitarian solution for Palestine. We have said that all the Palestinians should take part in a free referendum so as to end the 60 year old war. The outcome is clear from now. It is because of the same outcome that America and Britain are refusing to yield. (David Pujadas) Let us clarify everything. Do you really wish to wipe Israel off the face of the earth? Do you have a plan for this job or are you in fact making such a prediction? (Ahmadinezhad) Look, I told you the solution. I think the people of Palestine also have the right to determine their own fate. Let them choose for themselves, the Christians, the Jews and the Muslims. That is, all the Palestinians who belong to that land can participate in the referendum. I think the outcome of such a referendum is already clear. We saw what happened in last yearâs elections (when they voted for HAMAS)."
In answer to the original question, Israel is the ultimate villain and Iran is manipulated by them and their Yank pals. Get rid of the immoral Yank support and the Zionists will be forced to show reason or suffer the consequences. They won't use their nukes.
Your quoting the bible, now that is funny i mean seriously doesn't the bible also say that someone split the red sea? feed hundreds of people with a couple of fish/bread - **** off quote something else Also its funny how many westerners here actually bring religion into it, who honestly gives a **** what religion is right seriously they are all ****ing idiots, religion = reason man continues to fight wars (thats not up for debate its fact) If i didn't know better I'd think you've been watching the passion to much and decided to hate jews because they "killed" a mythical human being.
"Palestine" was a term coined by the Romans in AD 135 in an effort to erase Jewish ties with Israel. Therefore Palestine is never mentioned in the Bible and your entire premise is false, old fruit.
If the Jews were removed from Israel then the Palestinians would still be in camps run by the Jordanians.....much like before Israel took Jerusalem There would be no Palestinian state They should stop being fannies and sort these talks out
A hell of a lot more Palestinian men, women & children would still be alive though. Whether living in camps or not.
You think? The Jordanians slaughtered around 20,000 of their fellow 'Palestinian' Arabs during Black September. Funny how people are so quick to erase this from their memories, isn't it?
Are you honestly claiming that Iran's own broadcasting media and Ahmadinejad's own website don't know what he said? The suggestion that the Ayatollah Khomeini was calling for regime change when he originally said it is ****ing laughable, frankly. This is the same man that wanted Salman Rushdie assassinated for writing a book that he didn't like. "Even if Salman Rushdie repents and becomes the most pious man of all time, it is incumbent on every Muslim to employ everything he has got, his life and wealth, to send him to Hell". His actions resulted in one of the book's translators being murdered.
Ahmedinajad actually quoted wrong though didnt he? The reason I ask about KHOMEINI is that a lot of people actually mix him up with KHAMINI did KHOMEINI actually say about wiping Israel off the map though? any quotes?
He said scene or stage of time and Ahmadinejad replaced the word for scene or stage with one that's closer to page or book. I think that the President's wishes can be clarified just by reading the rest of the speech, but the claims that he's been widely and intentionally misrepresented don't hold any water, in my opinion. The original speech was translated to mean the same thing and passed without clarification, by all accounts.
so no quotes? and fair enough if its just your opinion the scene/stage/page/book doesnt really explain the whole sentence. My understanding is that khomeini never said israel, he specifically said zionist regime no different to reagan when he said it about the Soviet regime The scary thing is/was that ahmedinajad is not the commander in chief of the Iranian army, the US president is
You are basing what you think he said on assumptions that are influenced by bias you already hold against them. Again, we can only go with what he said translates to and it does not translate into him wiping Israel off the earth. Stop translating it to what you wish he said. and what the hell does them wanting Rushdie assassinated have to do with it? Israel, Russia, US etc actually carry out gov,t sanctioned assissinations on a regualar basis, I really dont see how its relevant to whether they pose an immediate nuclear threat
And you're not influenced by a bias against the West and Israel? It's completely stupid any of you debating this because you all believe your own sources The Daily Mail, The Guardian whatever and are all so dogmatic that it will never get anywhere you're all just going round in circles.
