My one wish is to win the F A Cup again in my lifetime and after starting the day with as good a chance as anyone, sadly the performance did not match my ambitions once again. Not being able to drive meant that once again I was relying on the goodwill of my family to get me to the game with my daughter Emily dropping me off and my husband picking me up after the game. There again, the number of times over the years mum’s taxi has been there at the drop of a hat it’s payback time. I had a lovely afternoon with our Malta Whites at Holbeck Working Men’s Club on Sunday thanks to my son Jamie taking me, showing once again what a fantastic worldwide fan base, we have. The one thing I love is being amongst our fans and thank you once again for all the support I was shown by lots of you tonight.

Team: Meslier, Ayling (captain), Roca, Koch, Kristensen, Firpo, McKennie, Adams, Rutter, Summerville and Gnonto.

Subs: Bamford for Rutter (63), Harrison for Gnonto (63), Aaronson for Roca (73).

Subs not used: Robles, Gyabi, Gray, Perkins, Joseph, Monteiro.

    Leeds lost the game 2-0.

    Attendance: 19,359, 6,165 Leeds fans.

    Referee: Chris Kavanagh.

    Booked: None.

After a minute’s applause for the late John Motson, the game kicked off with the Leeds fans in good voice. There was a biting wind in the left-hand corner where Jermaine Beckford was in the TV box behind us getting a rendition of scoring that lovely goal for us in a s**m sh*thole. Leeds fans cheered when it looked like we had scored an early goal when Rutter scored after McKennie’s initial header was saved. Suddenly we realised that the goal had been disallowed but we had no idea why. After being the better team in the early stages, it was Sod’s Law that saw Fulham take the lead, but it was a great goal. That’s the sort of chance I wanted Leeds to take by having a shot from outside the area instead of trying to walk the ball into the net. It had also been against the run of play. Leeds fought back and had the ball in the net again which was once against ruled out, this time for offside against Gnonto. Roca had forced a save from their keeper and Rutter saw another chance come back off the post in the closing minutes of the half. Although disappointed at going in a goal behind, the first half had been quite positive.

The second half started off well with shots from Gnonto and Rutter saved by their keeper. Once Fulham got their second goal which again was another good strike, that was it, as the heart was ripped out of the squad then in my opinion. We went missing then with our midfield lightweight before the first of our subs were made but for a long while we were very poor. Fulham saw a “third” goal disallowed and although Leeds had a late rally that could have got us back into the game when McKennie and Ayling both had shots cleared off the line, realistically it was never going to happen. I was angry at points within that second half that my ambition wasn’t matched by the team so when I got back to the coach, I listened to music to calm down before writing my blog. I’ve seen conflicting feedback from plenty of our fans with many thinking we played well whereas I thought the second half was very poor. Plenty of others thought that too but there will always be differing opinions which I’ve to accept. We’ll be back to London on Saturday for the Chelsea game, and we’ll have a better idea at the end of that game whether we can pull away from the bottom of the table or not. See you there, LUFC - Marching on Together!

Rutter's goal was disallowed as McKennie was adjudged to have pushed Wilson
