It was a good read the first time he wrote it on here*, after the umpteenth time it's a bit yawn inducing. *Heard it in person multiple times. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
It’s neck and neck between Not a chance And Some sort of hybrid plan I’ve read that back in a Peter O’Sullivan voice
Rosenior confirming what we know, that our facilities are not up to scratch and sadly got no real investment despite 3 bites at the PL golden goose. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...tm_campaign=hcfc_newsletter2&utm_medium=email
Norwich had an almost identical history to us since 2008. They built an impressive training complex out of town. Helps when you sell out season tickets every year no matter what division you are in. A new 360 degree reality training system developed in Germany came out when they moved in. Liverpool and Arsenal approached the firm saying they would like to be the first England to have one, probably thinking the company would fall over themselves for the publicity. They were told sorry you can’t be the first as Norwich City already are. A shame we didn’t have owners with that level of forward thinking.
I highly doubt it'll happen at Walton St I know it won't be anywhere near £25m that's been quoted But I'm certain the club will build a new training complex within the next few years. The council either need to get onboard with this and make it beneficial to the people and community they apparently serve or it will be lost to a site in the east riding
A site in the East Riding would make more sense. Somewhere between Hull and Goole with easy access to the M62. It would make enticing players to even come and talk to us 'and have a look round' a damn sight easier. Walton Street will never happen.
Walton Street needs redevelopment, but I doubt it's anywhere big enough for a first team and academy sports village. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
This is the strange thing about the sports village proposal. Development of that area would be great, but it being primarily centred on having the first team train there doesn't seem right at all. A training ground is clearly not a community facility. It'd be great if we could have a training ground out of town somewhere but also develop Walton Street in a more useful and realistic way.
Agree. It isn’t big enough on Walton Street for what is envisaged. Very few clubs have a training complex near to their stadium, a lot have out of town ones. Training complex elsewhere and redevelop Walton Street is the best option. But, unfortunately, cannot see it happening.
Be probably cheaper too. Hearing City would like a hotel of some sorts near the stadium and that's fair enough and there is room for that. The present (vandelised) all weather pitches could be updated to house the bubble the club already have, but if the present owners think we will get enough cash by selling the Mill House Woods Lane site to kick start or even pay for this pipe dream of developing Walton Street then they need telling they are delusional.
I think it's probably safe to say that whatever our owners are they are almost certainly not delusional.
