He was winning everything lumped up to him against Wolves. Just had no runners to lay off to when he did.
And most of his good work against Chelsea was when the ball was aimed at his chest. His chest control is very good and he was also good at dropping the ball at his own feet and finding a teammate with a layoff.
Na I agree he has played well at times, but how you can go from winning most balls one game, to **** all against Leeds is beyond me. He shouldn't be beaten at all in the air tbh on a 50/50.
The difference may lie in the quality of the balls put in. A ball onto the head or a ball 3 inches over it are not equal.
Didn’t realise Cedric was at Fulham now. He’s had a good career hasn’t he? Left cause we’re **** iirc.
Apologies! Obviously got carried away with that thought. Must calm down, what could I have been thinking about?
Judging from all the comments on the Leeds game, one could be mistaken that virtually the whole squad was suffering from concussion?
How did he look against Leeds, or in other games in the last 2 years ? We need to be getting players on the pitch who are going to play together and influence, and win games for the rest of the season - that isn`t Theo, or MOI IMO.
Yeah, but the problem is we don’t have that quality in the squad. Anyone we put on that pitch is going to come up short at some point.
You’re right. But the fact that Theo is at the end of career, hasn’t done anything useful in a football match for about 3 years and is sponging a living off us makes me feel he is worse. Orsic might come good (“just needs a run of 6 games”). Djenepo had a few good games at the start of the season at wingback. Elyonoussi had a run of about 4 good games last season.
Elyounoussi is absolutely atrocious this season. And he's no spring chicken himself; neither is Orsic, who is a complete novice in the Premier League. Djenepo is awful too. There's a stigma towards Theo though because he's a high-earner I guess and he's over 30. But he's looked okay the last two sub appearances. The pass he made for Mara in the Chelsea game, well, if that had been Alcaraz, we'd all be creaming in our pants for days. He also put in the cross that Adarma should have scored from. Against Leeds he came on, and had basically our only chance of the game. Yeah he should have buried it, but a least he made the run to create the chance, something none of the players you mentioned ever look like doing these days.
Walcott has been absolute pants the past year but has been one of the best in the last 2 games. If we find a player in form I couldn’t give a toss if they are 22 or 32. I’d bring him on every game.
