And it won't be forever. I have a mate who is just about the most knowledgeable bloke I know on what might be called geo political affairs. He'd call it that anyway! He's a Uni professor and not really interested in football at all. He believes that the Saudis are in football as part of the bid to try and get the World Cup in 2030 as well as the image washing. Get it and they will find their a way out. Don't get it, the same. If there is anyone I know who I'd believe in anything of this sort, it would be him.
Well for reference . When Chelsea won the CL a few years ago, they made just over £100m . For the club. Not " the area " and it wasn't " a run". Just gabblenouth ****e.
They used the man City model and what they generated for Manchester when they broke into Europe. European fans spend 4 times more than normal fans when on away trips... sounds plausible
This all reminds of the Nazis and The Thousand Year Reicht. Chelsea supporters thought the Russians would never desert them or would leave them in the hands of someone who would keep them at the top. The Saudis are simply using the club and would quit Newcastle quicker than Alex Neil ran out on Sunderland ... ... and what will they be left with.
So after making my point, some thick slapper agreed that everyone should be proud of north east teams and then finished it off with “jealous sad mackem bastards”. **** me their dignity and goodwill to north east teams lasted all of 30 seconds. What a thick twat
Leave the skunks, that would be hard to do so surely? Bids for 2030 will probably be sorted by 2027/8, or could it be sooner?
Just his view mate. He's a great lad but a different breed . Thinks on about six levels at the same time! He could easily be wrong, and isn't interested in football at all, but he has seen things coming before that I would never have thought about. It's like having a human encyclopedia for a mate!
Watched the game on TV and thought the atmosphere was at best mediocre, especially after United scored. Now all I seem to come across are mags saying how brilliant they were, why do they always have to build themselves up to be the bestest of the best. Came across this though from people who were actually there, which tells a different story. Any mag on here care to elaborate?
Not impossible mate, though I think it's unlikely by then. But who knows? What the mags don't realise is that they are a tool for the Saudis. Once they've served their purpose they'll be dumped by them. It's not just the sports washing, it's also the politics involved in Saudi and the Arabian area, the one upmanship, the competition between the different countries. Any change in that dynamic and the mags can easily find out they're past the point of usefulness and get dumped.
There's needle within the Newcastle supporters. People went to the 3 home cups games moaning that people with 30 in were getting priority. Then the ballot had people who never go getting tickets and the 30 yearers getting none. All isn't well despite what they say.
Don't usually have time for anything social media other than this, but couldn't resist having a look at the Mags board for the first time. Their thread about us is the Warm Glow thread, for those who haven't seen it, it starts with this... "Who else has had a warm glow after watching the mackems lose their (third in a row, yes they are big on that) game at Wembley on Sunday? I've had a warm glow all week (steady, now) and it's only now beginning to fade How is your warm glow? " Have to say, my warm glow is still strong, how many have they lost in a row at Wembley, and how long since a win? Karma
@SkySports_Keith Met Police say that more than 8000 Newcastle United fans gathered in Trafalgar Square on the Saturday evening before the Final, calling the gathering “generally good natured”.
