So should we support Ukraine in re-taking Crimea by force, effectively becoming the aggressor in the current conflict? I'd say not.

Why would they be the aggressor? It's their land. Giving Putin anything is just delaying the conflict for a few years before they start again. Ukraine needs to join NATO once the Russians have been kicked out and ideally Russia will break up once Putin is deposed.

And of course, would it stop there…..there will be many in Ukraine who would like to see Russia punished for its crimes…..so would that mean “tanks on Red Square” as has already been spoken of ?

Why would Ukraine attack Russia? They never wanted this war.

As I’ve already said….to wreck vengeance. People high up in Ukraine have already stated this

Who has? Genuine question. I've not seen anyone claim this seriously. There was a joke made by the Defence minister the other day, they've always said they want to kick the Russians out and end this war.

This is what I was referring to

Absolutely.... however that’s not the point I’m making

Of course some people want vengeance. It's completely natural. There is no appetite in the Ukranian leadership or the West to have a war on Russian soil. Hopefully the Russian people will grow a pair and kick Putin out themselves.

Let’s hope you’re right.....however many are now starting to feel that the constant arming of Ukraine with ever more advanced and long range weapons is adding fuel to the fire.....and at some point the fire might burn out of control.

We're barely sending anything. A few tanks and other bits. Ukraine are dependant on us for ammo and spare parts, there's no chance they'd attempt to invade Russia.

I would disagree that we, the West, are “barely sending anything”.....and I guess your final point will only be known in the future.

Do you know what we sent Russia during WW2? Ukraine have had a handful of western tanks promised to them and random bits of old kit we had lying around waiting to be decommissioned.
