We've been garbage in two of the last four games and not a whole lot better against Stoke. That's cause for concern for me. We don't have easy fixtures to help bounce out of the funk either. If we lose to WBA suddenly our form looks pretty concerning and players' heads can start to drop as frustrations build.
As daft as it sounds, I'm glad we play a decent side next. I couldn't think of anything worse than Rotherham coming to our place and parking the bus. I think the current personnel would find it really tough to break down. At least we know West Brom will come out and have a go at us. They're going through a sticky patch too so I'm looking forward to it
Theres a scenario where that might be the case, but picking up points in the meantime will relieve that potential pressure. Like points deductions last season made us safe before it was time to stockpile the toiletroll for the bitter end. It sounds like you've conceded already. Championship is a bitch but it works both ways. We may not win when we expect, but we'll continue picking up points when perhaps not also.
I Kinda got that muddled Qpr Birmingham Cardiff twice Wigan Pretty much the same though Qpr and birmingham are on dire dire runs
I think if we went down it'd be almost worthy of an applause We'd have to pretty much lose every single game remaining and have all them teams below us gain more
Yeah I don't think we actually will just making the point we're maybe not as safe as we seem to be taking it. Need to get a few more results on the board.
Aware that they had lost a few, but losing by the odd goal in 5 to Watford isn't quite equivalent to the run we've been going through. Brum loss their only real stinky performance.
Better than a point a game is generally good enough. We'd realistically need 6 from 36 remaining. But it's not going to happen, just like playoffs was never going to happen - but I still say we should finish 12th or above.
If you took out last season's swathe of points deductions then 42 points kept you up last year. On average past 5 years around 44(ish) points keeps you up. Something catastrophic would have to happen for us to go down
I don't think it's as bad as you're making out. It's still 2 clean sheets in the last 4, and it would've been 3 if not for a contentious penalty. The defensive performances in the 3 apart from Norwich has been really good. The worst defence in the league has become one of the best which is a real achievement. I think there are things we can tweak to be better going forwards too. I think Oscar needs a spell out, Tetteh deserves a run. We need to get some control in midfield as well so I'd be tempted to start Adama, even if it was only for 45 mins. I know he's been out a while but we've taken it really slowly with him, he's had about 6 weeks in full training, plus 2 u23s games and that game against Man City midweek. That's almost a full pre season
