Spuds need another here, to put the game to bed but more importantly, it will get me 5 points on Super6
I'm not going to say we've been the best team in the League Cup this season but i reckon we're in the top two. I'd prefer to lose the final than not be in the final so even if we lose badly it's overall been a good experience. Think it's going to be a tight game, obviously an early goal or a sending off could change that (or as per last weekennd for us both of those things!), but I suspect whoever is winning with 20 minutes to go isn't going to be feeling comfortable. I kind of hope it doesn't go to penalties though, I'd prefer to lose in an exciting match in 90 or 120 minutes than endure losing in penalties.
First round you are given a bye Second round you beat L3 Tranmere Third round you got through on penalties Fourth round you got relegation candidates Bournemouth Quarters you beat Leicester who scraped past Gillingham Nothing like perspective
Pretty sure only two teams have gone through it unbeaten so far? Reckon that's us and Man Utd, top two I tell you Semi's are probably the worst time to go out in almost any competition, we have to be very thankful to Southampton as if we'd faced Man City I suspect they'd have put out a very strong side and beaten us then. They're the breaks though really. It's like England losing in the final of the Euros to Italy and people discreditting it by saying we faced no-one good, that really isn't a pre-requisite, those European trophy wins from pre-90's were like 4 great teams each season and a bunch of sides who wouldn't have got out of the (now) Championship - still all counts!
I had a look at the Chelsea bench and I reckon at least 7 of those would walk into our first team, though granted in the case of Auba he may actually be walking: They're clinging onto the top half of the table. Madness. That squad is a top 4 squad.
Also, I'll pause with the triple posting after this, I have to accept it would be ****-housery of the higest order if Dubravka went up to collect a medal at the end if Man Utd win. Like I'd simply have to accept that would be well played, getting up from having spent the game with our players to go over and do that (I understand he's entitled to one and why wouldn't he take it?).
We win great we lose it'll hurt , but when the dust settles it'll be OK because this is just year 1. Man united are light years ahead but we're in this final let's just enjoy it and take whatever comes well.
Well happy with that, buzzing for Oli Skipp too, Tottenham through and through and that was his first goal for us as well, nice time to do it.
