agree that money should have been made available for a MF in the summer however money was made available in Janusry and we bought yet another forward instead.
once we get to 40 points forget about it then. this lot have lost their heads and cocks. klopp has lost his mind if fabinho is his sub to come on there.
My point was more that we haven’t been able to shift the fringe players on because they’re on big contracts. The reason they’re on big contracts was because they were rewarded when we were doing great. Now, maybe that’s poor management and should have seen the issues. But then again, who knew we’d fall so massively off a cliff this season after last year. Players like Hendo ox Keita were on big contracts at start of last season and no one was complaining about it then because the team were winning and everyone was playing their part.
There was another midfield option after Tchoumeni that also opted for elsewhere but can't remember who it was. I prefer the 'sign the right player or no one' approach. If it means a poor season like this one, so be it. It'll be better in the long run because we're not wasting the limited budget we have
Well we are pretty ****ing close the point is that either we have money or don't. we either have squad slots to fill or we don't. the second the club said Arthur was not being taken out and shot I knew we had 17 foreign players and would not be buying for example. other clubs will shift failures like ox and keita and will not give them any fitness time.in friendlies etc until they realise they better get the ****.
Well Jimmy was certainly moaning about giving Hendo a 4 year contract and i agreed with him as paying someone whose game is based in the main on physical attributes 150kpw at 33 struck me a lunacy .
Which could be excused if he was a generation defining talent, so far he looks like he could become useful in time, but doesn't look worth sacrificing a midfield signing over.
yeah he is ok though i've seen nothing to suggest he has any attributes that are top drawer but as i said at the time MF was where to spend that dosh as if we don't get top 4 that is £50m revenue dropped making it more difficult to afford this reputed first choice signing .
borrow it like every other club Inc arsenal. but of course fsg don't want debt at all as it affects sale price.
I may have read it wrong as well. Were you not saying we wasted £50m that we should have kept hold of towards the cost of our rumoured big signing?
