We conceded a very similar goal at Old Trafford where Meslier let the ball squirm away from him. Hopefully our luck has changed and these type of goals go in at the right end from now on.
by the time he’s on here later, after a few bottles of claret, junior will have skipped past 3 men and rifled it home from 35 yards…
Go on, ask yourself why you would post that, especially after a win. Some people just want to be unhappy
Poor old Orta wears his heart on his sleeve and is a very emotional guy. You can tell he genuinely cares for the club and the decisions he makes. It hurts him when they don't work out. He wants what's best for the club. A large percentage of fans wear their hearts on their sleeves and are emotionally connected to the club. It hurts when things go wrong because they want what's best for the club. Both Orta and the fans regularly fall out with each other. Its madness.
Evening all. Not going to comment on the match until tomorrow as just need a bit of time to enjoy the win. What I will say though is the demeanour of our new coach is very impressive and immediately likeable. Basically just stands there and coaches whilst all of his staff sit down in the dugout, then when he wants a chat he goes over to hear what they have to say. No bullshit arguing with the officials and no emotional outbursts towards his own players or the opposition bench. Comes across by his body language as calm and the consumate professional. Pretty sure everyone will get behind what appears to be a very thoughtful, erudite and humble guy who also seems to know what he's doing.
Particular bit I liked was the pre match presser. Gave no details of injuries or hints at team selection. I know that’s what people want to hear and reporters will inevitably ask but for the life of me can’t fathom the advantage to giving away that info in advance. Many coaches seem to do it now
I am very optimistic because if we play like this after one day, next week we will play much, much better. I liked this in his post match interview.
I agree with the comments above about Javi. Isn't it great to have a 'boring' manager. 3points on the board, the rollercoaster has restarted. MOT.
i like him too for what it’s worth. I’m not going to get too carried away just yet though after a fairly uninspiring performance against the bottom side - won with a goalkeeping error. Like everyone I just hope it’s the break we needed to turn things around. I hope it’s the start of a great run for obvious reasons. It will also have the bonus of not having to read hundreds of comments about his lack of passion, fiddling while Rome burns, can’t motivate his team, failing to get in the refs ear etc which are the default responses to the humble quiet types when results don’t go their way.
Can anyone explain why Gnonto was booked for celebrating the goal? I know he encroached on the pitch but how many times have we seen all the subs run onto the pitch to celebrate before? I'm at a loss to be honest.
