The greatest striker either side ever had... The one and only colin Lee...... Oh and some geezer call Jimmy greaves
I'm abroad but will leave the key for the cave with PNP if anyone wants a safe haven. Fecking hate this fixture. Absolutely dread it and never more so than when that bunch of plastic feckers need a pick me up.
Danjuma in for Richarlison and that’s about it. Keep Sonny on the bench for another game or two, seems to be far more impactful from there this season.
Reece James, Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk are all available for Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Kante has also been seen training. Typical, Dr Tottenham will see you now.
It could have been worse. They could have sacked Potter and had the "new manager bounce" against us. Not to say they won't be better against us than in their past 10 games. Bound to happen. Having said that, though I dread this fixture as much as anyone, I actually hate this lot far more than that nearby team in red. I am desperate to give them a stuffing. Plastic team, horrendous "fans", shouldn't exist in their current form etc, and even when their dodgy financial predicament finally unravels, they get bloody rescued. Hopefully Pool are still shellshocked (even though apparently "entitled" to be in the top four), but if we want to really get that 4th spot this is a must win. And though we probably won't, we should have a better chance of win than usual given their current problems.
Training video: Alfie Devine appears to be part of the core group now, judging by this. I assume this is due to our lack of midfield options, but he doesn't look out of place. Looks the part physically, which probably makes sense.
Chelsea rumoured to be without Kante, Pulisic and Azpilicueta, the latter unsurprisingly really seeing as he took a bicycle kick to the face last weekend.
...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand right before the game Matt Law tries stirring the pot by announcing (two weeks after the fact) that Daniel Levy has given himself a £500k pay raise, knowing full well that there's a section of our fanbase who don't understand commission structures but do understand a Baddiel-faced ****nut talking bollocks
Despite ourselves there was a lot of excitement coming into this season following the last part of last season. The transfer window in the summer looked great and we had Conte, one of the worlds best manager. In the event it has been a stop start season and a disappointment because of those expectations. There have been a few high points and beating City was one of those. Today is one of those games that will either have us all buzzing or on the other hand we could end up feeling angry and frustrated. We all know that this could be the turn around game for either club and it's impossible to predict but it shouldn't be should it? COYS
Strategically the mindset today for the team should be "cup final" , as a win today is quite detrimental to several of our rivals for a PL top 4 slot. The issue as always is the mindset is never to force feed them some of their own "Battle of the Bridge" medicine.
Out of all of our games this is the the one to win for me , Chavski are the noisy neighbours that moved into your road, taking up the parking spaces with their fleet of chaved up cars and obnoxious family , I was talking to one of their " lifelong " fans the other day who did not believe that they had dropped into the old 2nd division and that we had beaten them in an FA Cup final
I was at a promotional 'thingy' in deepest South London yesterday. Chatting with a bloke I recognised but couldn't place, we were trading haunts from 40 - 45 years ago. Eventually, he said "Football....Chelsea?" I laughed and said that wasn't football... After saying that I was Spurs, he told me how **** we've been since Bates bannkrupted them and Abramovic bankrolled them. Nobody remembers the sub-10,000 crowds. It's been bought out of the collective memory.
No matter what Levy may think of Spurs supporters, he has never pondered in public having electrified fencing at WHL to deal with them.
