TBF, we've just been hammered at home, now playing away against a team sitting back because their best two attackers are out. It was always going to be an ugly game. We need a bit of spark and a bit of luck to kick start something.
passing was far too slow. midfield was like statues. when finally cbs managed to persuade a cm to move 2 yards for a pass they got the ball right back. the only forward play has been matip running forward and Robertson making one or two runs. it's a shameful performance after being trashed midweek. if keita comes.out after ht klopp need to go. that would be tantamount to exactly what Kenny said in 1991. he couldn't think what to do any more, his head was gone. we need a riot act at ht and two kids coming on to inject a slight bit of energy. I'd be happy to see 3 kids on. Jones Elliott and bajcetic at ht. Jota can then come off on 60mins for carvalho. if those kids then don't inject anything then **** it.
Apart the lack of assertiveness at the back, I don't think we've done too badly. Take Keita off; done nothing of now bar looking like he wants an early bath. Ideally Bajcetic comes on but he's played a lot of football lately so the rest would do him good too. I think Elliott will come in for him.
That's because we've got a midfield of Hendo, Milner and Keita. Can't even go long as the only runner upfront is Salah and he doesn't run unless the ball is actually played nowadays
I went with a coffee... not a real coffee, did a Keurig pod, too lazy to make a real coffee. Hopefully will keep me awake in the second half.
Matip having an absolute shocker as well. Would say take him off but have no one to being in so will just have to hope he finds his feet. Looks like can’t kick a football half the time he’s got it though
We're playing lifeless, but Palace arn't really taking advantage of it. Game is pretty even. With a little more tempo I think we would be on top, but everyone looks tired.
Just a query but at what point do you start to offer some critism klopps way. Over half way through the season, same players, same system, same poor performance. No new ideas? Nothing to offer? Surely the best managers get the best from the team by tactical change to make the best of what they've got rather than trying the sa.e thing over and over again thinking it will be different next time
I think with a little more focus, either side could be up. Salah's wasted two opportunities. Hendo doofing about the penalty box getting in the way of TAA's shot. Jota shooting right at the keeper when either side slightly would have been a goal. We've had our opportunities too. I haven't watched enough of Palace this year to see if this is normal for them... we're definitely not normally so lifeless though.
As I've quoted ' to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result is a sign of insanity '
