Are you insinuating that pre 2012 (or whenever it was) all the ukrainian elections that were held were basically corrupt and false?

I don't know to much about it but would be interested to know your view and where this has come from

 

Viktor Tanukovytch was a Russian puppet until he was ousted in 2014.

 

I don't disagree with that.

That still doesn't mean he was fraudulently elected though.

Just as Boris is a rich mans puppet but we have to accept he was democratically elected at the time

 

There was huge Russian interference in the elections

 

Was he ousted in a democratic election ?

There was a People's Revolution when the government elected to streamline ready for EU membership, instead moved to closer ties Russia after heavy Russian pressure.

In the new Ukrainian democracy…..how many political parties are banned ?

 

I know we don’t see eye to eye on Brexit Strolls…but that really did make me laugh out loud

 

How can it be a right wing coup when 92% then vote for pro Western parties?

 

Possibly because many Left Wing and Socialist parties have been banned……just a thought

 

The Communist Party is banned apparently but there is a socialist anti-EU party

 

Is it democratic to ban the largest opposition party (one which controlled 44 seats in the Ukrainian Parliament) ?

I dunno…but to me it just seems rather……undemocratic ?
Of course our views on what constitutes a “democracy” might be a tad different.

 

Russia's fingerprints were all over the Ukrainian Communist Party. It treated Ukraine as a controllable satellite.

Security laws kick in. You can hardly allow parties supported by a nation of an invading army.

 

So therefore you stop being a democracy then…..

 

Britain banned the fascist party at the end of the 1930's. Did that stop it being a democracy?

 

Can a “fascist” truly be “democratic” ?
