No points there then or maybe the odd one - if we play at half pace - we had better technically players than Bristol but they ran faster and seemed to have a tactic other than ‘ pass it ‘don’t lose it

    The evolution of Managerial Names
Example: Grant McCann, Grant, Granite, Granto, McCann, McCrap, F..Off, McC..t!!!
So where are we with Liam Rosenior?

If you're a decent defender used to watching your team play attacking football at the other end of the pitch you might be thinking it's the manager who needs binning off. It's the owner I feel really sorry for when he picks up the wage bill for this lot. Never mind, he nearly ended up with his favourite scoreline, 0-0.

Nowt to do with being rivals at this exact moment. I detest Blunts and Fowls fans from games and experiences years ago and despise Hull Whites and East Yorks Whites. Most of my age feel the same.

No bottom 6 fodder any time soon either. Not until Rotherham in April. Could be well back in the mix by then

Castro thinks if he hates a club enough and calls them silly names, it makes them a rival even if the feeling isn’t mutual.

As I thought at the time, point blank and his arm was by his body. The original angle suggested he was trying to get his arm behind his body while he was jumping if anything, and at point blank range it's very hard to do anything quick enough so he certainly wasn't reacting to the strongly hit ball. And I also thought at the time that Bristol fans would repeat what they said earlier in the season, that we got lucky in the opening fixture so they deserved it. But it was not a penalty. That's how referees decide games and why following football can be more frustrating than anything.

That’s a penalty by any interpretation of the rules, his hand was extended well out to the side of his body, not tucked in in a so called ‘natural position’. It’s 100% a pen by the letter of the law sorry there is no debate or grey area about it.

If his arm was as outstretched as his leg it would be a clear penalty. It does show he was trying to stop it with his leg not his arm. The leg thrust was likely more anticipation of the shot.

Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio Bristol:

"In the first half we had a lot of situations that looked promising without finding the end product. Perseverance does pay off sometimes and we put them under even more pressure in the second half.

"We were trying our best to keep the pressure on them but you always felt you needed to be patient. I'm just really pleased we were able to find a way to get the three points.

"Whoever starts the game, there's confidence that when we look to the bench to make changes, we don't feel we're ever going to weaken and it's nice to have real options."

"I thought all the subs who went on had a good impact on the game and we saw the game out in a very professional way."

Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside:

"We lost the game in the first half, not the second. It wasn't (a penalty) but to be honest, our performance didn't deserve any luck.

"I felt we gave them an absolute leg-up in the first 10 minutes - we played with a lack of energy and that's why you end up losing the game.

"If you start like that and you lose so many headers, so many tackles, so many second balls you give the opposition confidence.

"Up to now, they've been magnificent, so I know it's there and we'll make sure we get back to the levels that I expect."

Not sure what your point is unless you think we're in danger of relegation

What were all City's players and the manager discussing with the referee at the end then? It was a very harsh decsion which I don't think would have been given at the other end.
