http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/40913.html read this feature on ESPN-F1 today, and got me wondering, are there any drivers who are out, that we would have rather seen than those in, and for me, there are a couple. Nico Hulkenberg deserved a race seat over Pastor Maldonado. He was fantastic in the end part of last season and quite rightly should feel aggrieved to have missed out on a race seat this season. As it happens, he missed out down to money I'm sure. Kubica obviously, which we all know about. Hopefully he'll be back. whats F1 fans opinions on the line up changes for next season?
Can I ask a stupid question mate sorry, sponsored drivers like Maldonado, whats the score there? Does he bring his Venezuelan sponsors over who pay for eveything inc wage and pmt to the team? How does he get paid, by his sponser or Williams? Or does he have to pay Williams for the drive with money from his sponsor? Apologies for the **** question but am attempting to be the F1 bod at work and am failing!
I don't entirely agree with some of those who are coming into F1. Maldonado being the biggest problem - yes, he won the GP2, but firstly he didn't have much competition, and secondly it wasn't enough to justify replacing Nico Hulkenburg - who looked on par with Rubens Barrichello towards the end of the season, and that's really impressive given that it was his first season in F1. Not too happy about Narain getting a seat either. Of all the new drivers into F1 this year, he is the least deserving (if that makes sense).
I've always wondered myself who actually pays the drivers. As far as I'm aware they bring the sponsors to the team, but with regard to the actual wage question, I'm out. Hopefully someone else can explain this
