We only went more direct when they scored really and actually caused problems. Then later it was just scrappy.
I agree, but the lad can create. He's got 3 assists, but he won a pen on the opening day too, and create a great chance for Doch today and he's created other chances for the likes of Longman in other games. There's an awful lot more to Tetteh's game and I think we look a much better side when he's in the side.
I wouldn't say it was, but it was about pace too, I thought the pace picked up after they scored. There was finally more urgency. That forced Bristol to make it scrappy.
^^This - the lack of a killer ball and the hassling from a busy forward are sorely lacking; our best eleven gives most teams a game but the lack of depth in quality is evident for all to see.
Oh I’m in agreement. Oscar’s weaknesses which is why are only being highlighted now because he’s not scoring are the reason he signed for us off the back off 19 goals in the Portuguese premier league. Also the reason why Tetteh plays for us as technically speaking he’s a premier league level player but doesn’t provide anywhere near enough threat for a striker.
While he doesn't have pace (neither does Estupinian really) he is very strong on the ball and is one of our most technically gifted players. He seems to get in good positions too. But as with quite a few of the incomings we had you still have to see about fitness for this league. Estupinian's strong point is probably on fitness, he can run around for 90 minutes. We still need to see if several players will have that fitness.
It's an awkward one. I've not been sure for a while that Oscar is the man to lead our strike force. I was looking at the top 10 goalscorers in the league and Oscar is probably the highest-paid, but I'm not sure he's good value.
I will get shot down... dont care... I think any decent manager would have sorted the defensive frailties out... LR is a very lucky lad landing this gig. In the fullness of time he may become a decent manager. As of this moment he's nothing more than OK... I dont think if he had a fully fit squad at his disposal he would actually know what his best team was (including the lovies he has) and how to get the best out of them. On that subject I do think A N Other manager would be getting more out of this depleted squad. Watch his interview today (obviously its not posted yet) on the Hull City site "reaction"... I guarantee he will not look the interviewer in the eyes, that says much in any workplace... and I can almost guarantee he wont take responsibility AGAIN...
Yet another piss poor performance from "our Liam"..……not the guy to take us forward.,,. said it long enough....see the season out son...then taxi please
With current options, how do we play to score more goals/create? Who's available to do that? January is a tough month to do business and we need plenty of new additions
We’ve yet to see that this squad is capable of anything more than what we are currently seeing. When do they take some responsibility for not being good enough? Coyle, Doc, Slater, Oscar were all terrible today.
I don't understand the expectation of some fans. Apart from Oscar, all those players you mentioned were signed when we were in L1. I think they're doing well to be mid-table, they're L1 players
Phil Holme scored 11 goals in 38 appearances in the old second division. Not many forwards have as good a return as that.
It was even more obvious from the replay on ifollow. Either way, he, and the ball, were clearly in the box, the ref was right in front of it about 2m away and it was the correct decision. No point arguing that the grass is blue.
