His movement and hold up.play was shocking for them - ive watched them loads as well this season.

So just because he is a big lad doesnt mean he wins headers n holds up the ball

Surely he would have been a better option than playing a defender there?

We can argue all day about not having a centre forward dont think anyone would disagree we need one.
But we are where we are.
I'm more interested now in how we can get the players we have to be a bit more potent in front of goal.
Seem to have lost the goal threat.
Need to find a way to get more intent in front of goal and stop overplaying without losing our good play.
Strangely thinking we maybe need to go 3 in midfield to give us a stronger platform
Its getting very crowded up top when we attack and when it breaks down we are short.

Can Danny Barrth move up front? No.

Can he cause a bother and get knock downs to Amad et al? Yes.

Would a striker do that better even though they are over the hill like Martin? Yes.

When the Coventry player ratings come out what do you think their ref will get, 8 or 9

I wish we wouldn’t piss about so much when we get near their box.
Our build up is too slow and by the time we get in the danger area they have had the time to get everybody back.
When they have been attacking, our defence look very thin on the ground and their players seem to have loads of space.

Before every game I look at our team and think ‘how can we lose’ because we do have some great players.
I guess it’s decision making and inexperience that is costing us.
We will come good though, next season we should be some team and if we have any strikers we can go up.

100% it would have. Anyone who things playing a centre back instead of a striker who has played hundreds of games instead is simply being delusional

Its their job to find and sign players. They had a whole month to find a forward not 3 days. The pathetic excuse that no one else would sign when we had a fit Ross and Gelhardt (which was for all of 26 hours) is just taking the piss out the fans

Gelhardt really doesn't suit the other players we have or the system we are trying to play. We are so easy to break against with him up front because the opposition can squeeze the pitch far too easily. He might be able to get away as a no 9 in u21s football, but being slow small and weak means you can do it in the Championship

We arent playing a defender there tho and no he wouldnt. Signings like that is exactly what got us into the mess we got into.

As ive mentioned the issue at the minute is we arent stretching teams enough with runners from deep n turning teams quick enough. Thats still an issue if you just have a big lump up front. Gelhardt 100% needs to do more but we need to.mix it at times, cant always plsy into feet, we need to.occassionally put the ball over the defence for forwards to run onto

We played Alese up front second half and Danny Baath after we conceded the second goal, he won the header for Amad.

Yeah that first reducer he puts in every game would have been very dicey with that ref.

I think we could have done with his physicality and game management because we had little answer to theirs.

I genuinely don't like to blame refs for results but the last 2 games now have clearly been influenced by **** refereeing.

Yes we could have played much better against Rotherham, especially 1st half, but we should have had a point out of that.

Today that goal conceded after 2 fouls allowed Coventry, a team with an excellent defensive record,to sit back park the bus then counter. They were going to be hard to breakdown even before that.

Yes today we could have improved in areas, we got pushed around a bit in the 1st half, and gave the ball away too cheaply or dallied with it. But it was a better performance than against Rotherham imo.
