No mate. Can not do that. It's again the lord's model. Not worth it. Let's just play a centre half instead.

Agree mate but you can't pick and choose when you go up. We had a big chance this season (not out of it yet of course).

So you would have been happy if we panic and signed someone like a Will Grigg just so we have a striker on the bench?

The issue is the lack of movement by all our front players, we need runners from deep, we need players to get in the box. Gelhardt is getting so isolated - yes he can do better but he also needs movement around him.

It's easy to say. but which loan players wanted to come here ? Which clubs wanted to loan them to us ? How do you know if we tried (or not) to get one in ?

Yes it's ****ing clear another striker is needed. Everybody on the board knows this.

But it's not as if the speakman said, oh well **** it, we'll not try. They did, but didn't manage to get one in.

You are actually becoming so boring. The model has worked so far, have we got every decision right, of course we havent but we have signed more good players than bad players.

Let's scrap the model and go back to what we used to do

Why do you keep mentioning a play who we overspend 3m on and its an presence striker.

A loan option would have done or Chris Martin.

Nope. It was just a bad bad mistake to be that rigid to the model. To think we should play half the season without a number 9 is absolutely outrageous.

Chris Martin is sh**e, what loan option should we have signed then? I mention him because you keep saying we should sign any striker, that's what we used to do and look where it got us

A number of us did say Gelhardt isn’t a proper striker a few weeks ago.. I’ve said it numerous times and I’ll say it again, people underestimate having a proper striker on the pitch. They had barely any of the ball yet having Gyokores to make strikers runs and hold the ball up won them the game.

Look at Weghorst at United. He couldn’t kick my arse but he holds the ball up, drags defenders around and allows the 3 behind him to excel. A short term loan for a proper 9 would’ve been of benefit to us.

Hold on, are you saying we should have signed another CF?

    How interesting.

Aye I’m not blaming him like but he was definitely the wrong choice.

Gelhardt is a proper no9 if we use him right though, I have watched him so much at U21 level and he is at his best when he has runners off him and we get players to the byline with the ball. He is never going to be a Stewart or a Gyokores but he is a clever striker who we need to get runners off.

I know what you are meaning, sometimes you do need that outball when teams are pressing well - for me the biggest concern I have from all our forward players is the lack of runs behind the defense our forwards

No I never said he was, but folk are saying just sign any striker so why not sign him?????

I also said someone LIKE him - meaning panic buying a CF like we did when we brought him in

Played the pass of the game from deep, something we don't do often enough for my liking. Tony makes good substitutions , but needs to get them on sooner imo.
I am now looking forward to see the Coventry Cheaters fail in the play-offs.
