I always look forward to the Adonis, usually some very nice types entered and that certainly applies to this year's renewal. The Milton Harris trained Scriptwriter sets the standard having won a Grade 2 at Cheltenham and pushed Comfort Zone all the way in the Finesse. But I think the fact that Comfort Zone is much more likely to go to the Fred Winter tells us that the form isn't exactly top notch and I think Scriptwriter could be vulnerable today on this sharper track. The one who I think can take advantage is Nicky Henderson's gorgeous bay filly, Pawapuri. This daughter of Golden Horn showed all her father's tenacity in winning 2 fillies races on the flat for William Haggas and she looks worth an e/w dabble at 12/1 with 8 runners. Later in the card, a previous Adonis winner Solo can take the Pendil and hopefully Bryony and Frodon can make it another magical Saturday for Paul Nicholls.

The very competitive Class-2 Pertemps Netwoork Handicap Hurdle at Chepstow (15:07) over an extended 2m7f, is a very tricky but interesting race. The Champs Elysees gelding, Operation Manna, a beaten-favourite LTO 61--days ago, has a good chance to make amends. With 15 declared runners, just a modest outlay would be sensible. Stan Sheppard rides for the Tom Lacey yard. 5/1 is best price on Oddschecker, freely-available at time of writing. In such a big field E/W probably best option, especially if there's an odds drift? Good luck today folks, enjoy the afternoon's racing!
Big race today is the Saudi Cup [5.35] Value for me is with the horse from Japan Crown Pride Each Way @ 20-1 [Paddy Power] 4 places

I think this is the last qualifier for the final Swanny and it is therefore surprising there are no Irish entries. The Kniphand will take plenty of beating with Finn Lambert's claim negating most of his 7lb rise. Could be a live one for the final if he can win really well today and get a hefty ratings hike into the low 130s.
I dread to think how many winners Gary Moore team would have if they employed a jockey instead of his sons.. FFS... would have won 5 with a decent pilot Perseus Way....
The bossman always blames the horses too, never the fact that they just do not know how to present a horse at an obstacle, just guns every horse into them. Family operation so can't complain really if they keep it in house, owners would have a say no doubt.
Bad luck for the place, Grade One. See a Japanese mare did win it though, Panthalassa. Haven't a clue what the betting odds were in Europe on the winner (don't think betting is allowed in Saudi Arabia? No Guinness either ).
