So my eldest is a Leeds supporter which makes for fun times tonight. He’s freaking out because I’m confident ‘you haven’t been confident all season, dad, why now???’
Seen various Leeds fan opinion pieces about players that need dropping. Apparently Harrison and McKennie aren’t that great at the moment. Also, one was saying that Summerville kid should be benched because he has only one assist in seven games. Elyounoussi would love those kind of figures.
We’ve won several times since Leeds last won but it’s still a bottom of the table clash between two poor sides. You’d think a draw would be the obvious prediction to make, though we don’t do draws and we’ve lost all our other must win bottom of the table clashes (except Everton), so can see why Leeds at home are anticipated to get a narrow win. They’ve also appointed a known manager whilst we’ve appointed an untested coach. To the average pundit or fan, that would shout relegation confirmed for us. We live in the hope that Selles while untested has what it takes, until 5pm anyway. COYR!
More I think about it, more i think we need the win. Obviously we can’t afford to lose & a draw probably wouldn’t be the worse but everyone in the bottom half will be looking at our game & hoping for a draw. That’s a point lost & then places a lot more pressure on the Leicester game, especially with MU next. Definitely a difficult set.
Of all the matches involving sides down the bottom this weekend, this is one which I find hardest to call. I really don't know. My gut feeling is that West Ham will beat Forest, with Everton also winning. Defeats for Bmouth, Leicester, and probably Palace (though I wouldn't be surprised if they got a draw). If those results were to all happen (big if), 12th to 17th would only be separated by three points - with West Ham propping up that group down on 23 points. But whilst that would be incredibly tight, it would leave either us or Leeds being four, or even five, points adrift.
I've got a good feeling about today and I think that both of our new forwards will score, 2-1 to Saints.
