Good Morning. It's Friday 24th February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds trio could face bans after FA charge

Leeds Utd and Everton have both been charged by the FA for improper conduct and for failing to control their players, following their antics at Goodison Park last weekend. A mass melee ensued after Tyler Adams completely overreacted to Dwight McNeil's challenge towards the end of the first half. Before you knew it, players from both sides joined in.

Leeds fans breathed a sigh of relief when referee Andrew Madley brandished only yellow cards for McKennie and Adams, especially when the footage shows the American pair (and Gnonto) in a less than favourable light. Gnonto and Adams have shown a lack of discipline over the last three or four games, and have given the FA the ammunition they need to hurt the club.

Rowett predicts big future for Cresswell

Lions Manager Gary Rowett has heaped praise on Charlie Cresswell, who, after a poor spell has forced his way back into Millwall's first XI. The 20yo is enjoying a roller coaster of a season in Bermondsey, and has played a major part in elevating them to 5th in the table.

He came close to leaving in January. Leeds accepted a permanent bid from Coventry City, but Cresswell changed his mind after initially agreeing to the move, deciding to stay and fight for his place. He has now started the last five games, which have included a 3-2 win over Sheffield Utd and a 1-1 draw with Burnley. According to Rowett:-

"It’s like anything. You’ve got to learn from those situations. He’ll probably look back on it and probably not take the risk," “The key for me is that I think he’s been outstanding. If you’re not playing well and you make those types of mistakes then it’s obviously a little bit harder to stay in the team.

“For me, he’s been outstanding. The last two or three games, he’s shown a different side to his game. He’s shown a real calm authority and a consistency to his performances." “I think I’ve said it all the way through, he’s going to be a top player but he’s not far off that now.”

    Championship beckons for Whites

Former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland ace Phil Babb believes Javi Gracia will add calmness and stability within the Elland Road ranks, yet predicts Championship football next season for the Whites, due to a difficult run of fixtures including Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City. Speaking to Sky Sports News, Babb added:-

"Unfortunately, looking at their fixtures, they've still got Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, Man City to play just to name a few. I think it might be a season too many for them," "A good man, with the pedigree that can potentially galvanise them and potentially get them out of trouble. I thought he was harshly treated at Watford. He did fantastically well there and was just a victim of their rotating door policy with managers."

"But all the soundbites I've heard, him as a man manager, his ideals, the way he wants to play football is all good. It probably adds a bit of calmness and stability to post-Bielsa and post-Jesse Marsch. I think he's a very good appointment."

Thanks for that Ell, that breakfast debate has cheered me up no end :(, Players were idiots getting involved in that melee, hopefully as it was dealt with by the officials at the time, that's the last we will hear of it, but this is Leeds were talking about.
Still think we can get out of this mess if javi can make an immediate impact, by galvanising the players into a footballing unit.
I believe as do others that these players are better than results suggest, and have let themselves down and even worse the club.
The Southampton match is a must win, as wins might be difficult to obtain on the run in, personally i feel that if we fail to beat Southampton, we realy will find it difficult to keep our PL status, just hope somehow Javi can give Skooby some advice from afar, till this work permit farce is sorted.

So here we are again being a fund raiser for the premier league. How about charging the referee with incompetence for failing to spot the kick on Adams. He reacted and was booked but the Eveton player should have walked. As expected the shyte referee favoured the scouse thugs and lost control. How can we be equally to blame it pees me off. I'm sticking up for Leeds and up yours prem league tossers.

I agree, the officials are so incompetent and corrupt that it is no wonder players say, **** it, and protect themselves and dish out their own retribution. They have my full support.

    Morning all

Jesse was well known for wanting the players to get stuck in, there is a fine line though and I'm sure once we get a proper coach in he'll have a quiet word with him

Gnonto's first couple of games he was nothing like the fired up character we see today, he started getting worse after Jesse complained he is being a target, rather than making him feel a victim the next coach needs to teach him how to be more Grealish and less Tyson Fury

Even the Everton game was Jesse's fault.

Morning all. Both clubs will get a fine for “failing to control their players”. Nothing else that the FA can do under their own rules. The referee saw the incident and dealt with it as he saw fit at the time. The FA can only intervene if the officials miss it. Also I’ll be pretty sure Javi will be doing a José and overseeing training in a washing basket. Knowing our luck we’ll beat Southampton and get the points deducted because of it <ok>

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Think wee Willie is being goaded by certain players and lets be honest Dyche has form for winding some of his players up and telling them to get into a players face and also whisper in their ears. Gnonto has put up with some shyt recently and been kicked to death to stop him

The fa should spend more time sorting out their refs and the useless ****s at VAR.
A bit of pushing and shoving, dealt with by the ref on the pitch, end of.

Pessimism is my hobby as you’re probably aware but don’t ask me why but I think he’s going to do well. I think he’ll get us out of this.

That's okay, the injuries are all still the fault of Bielsa according to some ;)

It also begs the question of why VAR didn't intervene if more cards needed dishing out. Nothing happened, so I don't think there will be further cards for player. Like you say, it's a club fine, £250,000 for us & £6.39 for them.
