The team is giving up conceding goals for lent. Just like pancake day is for using up all the eggs before lent, Liverpool was just getting all the conceded goals out the way now so we can clean-sheet it until Easter.
jinxs and superstitions have no ryhme.nor reason. you don't keep doing what no longer works. same person doing threads doesn't work sacrifice doesn't work poll doesn't work 10 pages doesn't work. having a good team certainly doesn't work. literally anything could be the next thing.
Crystal Palace should expect a (backslash} very strong reaction from our players. I am looking for a win.1: 3
Our players (assuming they have an ounce of pride left) will want to ram some of the harsh criticisms down the throat of the pundits after that awful result. To start, play Matip instead of Gomez, bench Fabinho and Gakpo, play Elliot and Jota. Drop the high line which enables opposition attacks to easily get behind our back line.
Well there were some positives in the **** show that was Tuesday night. Namely that we're finding the back of the net now - particularly Nunez. So I'm expecting more defensive calamities, but I think we'll outscore them.
The first fifteen minutes we were the Liverpool of old (last few years, not 1980s). We just completely changed after they scored
I don't agree. I think we changed after we score no 2. starting passing it lateral between the 3 cms like they didn't know whether to keep going or not.
I wasn't really thinking of the attack. Before they scored, I was looking at Fabinho, VVD, Hendo and thinking they'd all somehow found their old form. Soon as they scored, they looked ****e.
henderson wasn't that bad. he was haring about everywhere up to half time. VVd was on his own there. he hadn't a hope. our game went to pot as we were chasing it and players gambling to go forward or stay forward and then even just run at player receiving then stopping. IMO its a whole team yes or a whole team no when it comes to this press lark. once doubt entered heads about half were going. (esp not salah who is getting off ****ing light imo) if half the midfield just run at the man with the ball then theres gaps to pass into.
There were a few positives - at least the players had some fire in their bellies, something which has been lacking for most of the season. RM's first goal was just one of those things - a great strike from an in-form player. Then Ali channels his inner Karius for the second. The third was atrocious defending, and I only saw the last two through my fingers...
