Seeing a lot of negativity across social media platforms regarding the side. We are not always going to get it right and as for certain players being picked out and slammed is disgraceful. We have literally just came up and are still well above expectations yes lastnight was a blip and we've had a couple this season but to slate individuals is a disgrace. We will always struggle against physical sides especially not having a big presence upfront as we have no outlet. We are one of the youngest sides across all leagues and we are phenomenal to watch at times, the best side I've seen play in approx 10yrs. I'm really excited for the future and this team will only get better. It is about time keyboard warriors started to be supportive of a side that is actually excellent instead of slating them with negativity.
Its utterly ridiculous really. We're 8th in the table having just being promoted! The squad is full of young lads, who unfortunately will make errors as part of their learning process. But on the whole we play very good, exciting and attacking football that has been great to watch this season. I think a few were getting ahead of themselves thinking we were going to hunt down Sheff Utd. Without Ross Stewart and Corry Evans... We missed Evans last night btw, exactly the kind of game he'd have been class in.
Personally, I'm ****ing delighted with the way the season has gone so far. I love the way we play, just a case of the schedule catching up with a young squad and intensity dropping off a bit imo (and credit to Rotherham last night).
I certainly havnt read all social media but it's generally very sensible on here. You'll have the same people moaning and scapegoating whatever our situation.
, Most normal supporters know where we are and don't need to be told. But 'twas ever thus. Some will always see a cloud lurking just behind the sun. Not good last night, but that's the game. The other team needs to win too, and after the last month or two and our high exposure, teams are not just going to sit off us and watch us make fools of them. They are coming for the ball quicker, and it's a good problem for a young team to solve.
I would say that it’s a very loud minority that are the negative ones, I think most fans know we are going well and are heading in the right direction. Still a very annoying minority though, sometimes I wonder if I’m watching a different game to them.
Pick a team from Liverpool/ Man City etc with an average age of 22 and see how well they do over a whole Championship season. The negative fans on here aren’t worth responding to, they are in Cuckoo land.
Moaners are always heard more. They do their moaning when the team are struggling and the crowd are quite. It's the same everywhere actually. I cannot understand why they go, as they clearly exist in a permanent state of angst and are obviously not enjoying themselves. You'd need Arthur C Clarke to find out why they go to games.
The fact we’ve not even been in the relegation conversation is an achievement for me, dare to dream and all that but mid table is absolutely fine when you consider how many players are in their first season at this level or even in this country
My main problem with the critics is that the positives are taken for granted or glossed over with a generic statement. Let's be honest, not a single fan was shouting for us to sign Ross Stewart and many were actually critical when he signed injured. Most of us were more excited by the prospect of signing Jordan Jones FFS. Gyokeres is perhaps the only comparison in the entire football league for value for money. Nobody had heard of Trai Hume and now most think he's a Premier League full back in waiting. Batth was being criticised within weeks of being here for some of his performances and now he's essential. Amad was "another winger" and "not what we need". Jack Clarke was "rubbish" in League One. That's before I even start listing the lads we'd never heard of. The point is that it's very easy to say "sign another striker and we'd make the playoffs", but the experts making this point couldn't have possibly imagined that we'd have signed all of these incredible players, where playoffs even seem like a remote possibility. Any criticism should be such a minor point in comparison with the gratitude for the club putting this wonderful team together. But it's more like "those players were bought last summer, what have you done for me lately". It's a sense of entitlement that exists in modern football.
Now I may be way off the mark here, and shoot me down in flames if you care to disagree, but I'm of the opinion that we should have getting another striker in.
We definitely needed one but wanting one and getting one are 2 different things, typically clubs don’t let good players go in jan and us losing Ross with days left of the window I’d imagine anyone we looked ats price went up knowing we were desperate, a loan option would have been nice to cover until the end of the season but wasn’t to be
I totally agree it was criminal not getting another out and out striker in. Losing Stewart and Evans is a killer blow may be the difference between going up or not. I am still absolutely delighted with this squad and what we are achieving.
The players have been exellent just the refs. corners, and striker situation is a shame i will not pick on any player this season, they have been great.
So Speakman is now a criminal, for f***s sake man, you really need to think a bit more about the way you use the English language!
