Sheffield United v Watford F.C. Watford end their recent tough run of games against promotion placed Sheffield United. The Blades have lost their last two games, 1-3 to Middlesborough, and then 3-2 to Millwall. However, they still sit 2nd in the table. The Hornets had a hectic win against WBA in their last game. It was their first since a 2-0 win against Blackpool on the 15th of January. After that win, Bilic had dragged his injury ravaged squad to a DLDDD run. Therefore, the win against the Baggies must have been a welcome confidence boost for the players. Now, with injured players seemingly returning, coupled with a new centre back partnership that appears to be more solid, there is renewed hope of a play-off push. Nevertheless, Sheffiled United away will be a tough nut to crack. Team news to follow: ENJOY THE GAME
Keith Stroud has been appointed to officiate the Hornets’ trip to the second-placed Blades, the third time he will be in the middle for a Watford game in the current campaign. The official has shown a total of 135 yellow cards in his 26 matches this season, but has only issued a red card on three occasions. Sam Lewis and Mark Stevens are due to be the assistant referees for the game at Bramall Lane, with Ross Joyce the fourth official.
Didn't he send off Angella at Southampton on the telly after about two minutes and subsequently rescinded?
That may have been Lee Probert - sent Angella off at Bournemouth after 30 seconds. We lodged an appeal and won, but the damage had already been done with that 2-0 defeat.
I stand corrected. He refereed our promotion game at Brighton. Here's his record vs Watford: Keith Stroud » Record by matches of Watford FC (worldfootball.net)
Interesting. I adore CC, I think he is an all-round class act. However I think we should stick with Hoedt at least for a few more games, barring major calamity, as he and RP continue to build their relationship. But I get the argument, without a doubt.
I would still go with Hoedt...maybe for a half if cc is fit.... he does add something...although cc is much tidier
