Funny thing is, when they beat us 3-0 up at their place earlier in the season, albeit with the helping hand of an incompetent referee (you'll recall Simpson getting sent off and a penalty given very early on for absolutely no foul on their player), they actually went top of the table and their fans were (warning, incoming bad pun) cock-a-hoop with joy and were already starting to talk about promotion.... This is what I love about our division, just a few wins on the bounce can see you fly up the table, in the same way juts a few iffy results can see you drop quickly too... it really is (in the main) just so even. I know they have a game in hand but we are now only 6 points behind the Wurzles and they have been on their unbeaten run for a while... if (and it is a big if) we can turn them over in a couple of weeks time then we'll be close to overhauling them again after what, by our standards, has been a miserable time until these last 2 games... The joys of the Championship Oh, and don't be surprised if there is a managerial change down west soon too... it appears Mr Martin is yet another deluded, incompetent, League 1 standard manager who shouldn't be at their club..... just like Steve Cooper was, and Potter (when he first arrived), and Clement, and Bradley and Carvahal. etc etc etc...
The same applies to the Jacks - they're only a point above them and we're still to play both at home. Incidentally, especially living across there I'd have thought Mrs. Brizzle would have put you right - it's Wurzels not Wurzles......
Fair cop.... Thankfully I don't think she actually reads what I write (she never listens to what I say either funnily enough), plus, at the risk of having divorce proceedings started... I'm pretty sure there's an old saying about folks from these parts not being able to read or write but they can drive a tractor... That may have something to do with it too
I could read and write when I lived in Bristol, but not drive a tractor. Now I live in Cheshire I can do all three.
Not championship but didnt know where to put this. Maybe the joke Page would have been better. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-64704208
Used to be Burnden Park back when Masky was but a tit! My first game was a 1-0 home to Bolton 1961 (ish), a 1-0 defeat ....I remember a certain Eddie Hopkinson, England goalkeeper saving everything that day. It hurt my young mind, but in reality it was an epiphany moment, I had to start getting used to being disappointed! No offence Clingy bud!
A good chance to show what he can do at a bigger club. I always thought he would have got an opportunity with us.
Don't think they've been happy since they got relegated from the Prem! A club their size and with such a rich history obviously deserve far better.... I mean come on, there were almost 16000 in attendance tonight down there (though I suspect about a 1000 were probably from Stoke)!!
Does anyone think our game against the Jacks will have a time or date change? I don’t want to get a ticket if I can’t go.
Says it all about the game today when a 3pm game on a Saturday afternoon comes into question. Sorry Irish. I had a rant instead of answering your question. I haven't got a clue. Worth calling the club?
