He worked his socks off for sure against Chelsea but we looked vulnerable on that side. KWP is simply a much better player (certainly at FB) so he comes straight back in for me if he's fit.
He hasn't been that great recently.. definitely not up there from last year. He is obviously is our best RB when on form. I also don't think Selles just puts KWP back in either tbh.
Put AMN into the Elyounousi slot maybe? I think Lucy keeps getting picked because he follows the manager’s instructions, especially when we don’t have the ball, but he doesn’t create enough going forward, for me.
AMN was a liability, and was targeted as soon as Chelsea worked out that he is vulnerable. He even got shoulder barged to the floor by Sterling lol. KWP is a class above. Plus, he'll be up against Gnonto, who looks very dangerous.
Well that isnt what everyone was saying, that had watched the game. Chelsea had 3 forwards try and go through him and he did very well. Both Chelseas best moments come through the middle, between Lavia / Perraud. I'm just saying, you don't drop a form player and just allow a player to waltz back in, If anything it'll make KWP fight harder in training.
This 100%. The bigger picture is that players weren’t giving everything. If AMN put in 100% effort then he deserves to keep his place, which should have a knock on effect on team mentality.
AMN isn’t ‘on form’ though. He is doing just enough, similar to Djenepo at LB earlier in the season. Fact is he is out of position. Sooner or later that will cost us. Of course you put KWP - arguably our best player - back in. We can’t take any risks.
Well I completely disagree with this, But fair enough. We will see on Saturday who starts.. and agree that the Manager has made the correct decision.
Hmm, When we have 8 players who want to play in the position of Ely, That wouldn't be great! I'd rather Drop Sulemana to RAM, and start Adams. I think Adams would be a great link up between Sulemana/RAM and the Striker.
He’s intimated caretaker = temporary & he doesn’t get. He wants it properly & therefore feels interim is more of a lead to getting it full time. Word play I suppose but win at Leeds & he’s got it regardless of what title he’s presently got!
Yep, pretty surprised by that. Of course, might have just got his feet wrong but that led to a very dangerous attack.
Yep, KWP is one of the club's best and key players and comes straight back in when fit, the same as JWP would if he ever got injured (hope not!).
Had it been a split-second sort of situation, then fair enough. But it wasn't. He had 3 or 4 seconds to prepare for what was coming. Yet he was barged over so easily. Any self-respecting defender would have been deeply ashamed by that. If they'd have gone on to score, my god. AMN got lucky there, and in several other situations too. Redeemed himself with that block though, and played a great ball to Walcott for the Adarma chance.
Just asked my mate who is a Leeds fan about his opinion before the game and the new manager for them “Won’t make a difference if he picks Bamford and Harrison who are the worst players the Prem has ever seen” Good to see it’s not just us
May I make a request ... now that NJ has gone, can we lose the 'Janny B' and revert back to 'Bedders'? Reading 'Janny B' just makes me cringe
KWP is 100% our best right back. But as others have said it sets the wrong precedent. The obvious change is KWP for Perraud, but he doesn't deserve it either. So is KWP > Perraud on the left? I would leave him on the bench to come on if it was me. That is a fair comment if Jones was the manager as I have more tactical nous than him. Selles can do what he sees fit IMO as he knows.
Not even definite that he will be in charge against Saints according to the official leeds announcement. Even if he does get the work permit in time, he likely won't have much, if any, time with the players before hand.
