Wow, what a difference a week makes! still bottom of the league but feeling on top of the world. It's certainly not boring being a Saints fan! That Rubén Sellés fella seems ok doesn't he! Who'd have thought it huh? Oh hi Ralph! 3 points, another JWP masterclass, a clean sheet, heroes all over the pitch including Janny B! Can we play Chelsea every week? So this weekend it's a visit to Elland Road to take on fellow strugglers Leeds United. After almost beating Man Utd in his first game as caretaker(2-2), Michael Skubala lost to Man Utd 5 days later and then lost at Everton at the weekend. There is talk of a new manager coming in before the match so we might even see someone else in the home dugout. Leeds currently sit 1 point above us but after we win at the weekend we will move above them! Oh yeah I've read the script and spoiler alert we will beat them! Bloody great goal too! If results go our way with West Ham and Bournemouth, then, we could end the weekend in the dizzy heights of 17th place! I think after the year we have had, we can all see the light at the end of the tunnel. Seriously whatever happens, survival or the other option that I can't remember, as long as the team can put in the effort they showed against Chelsea, then we will feel immense pride! We are quite simple folk really, winning is great and the ultimate aim but we have been starved of real ball busting effort for such a long time, that we just need to see that return consistently. Do that and the results will take care of themselves more than they won't! In RS we trust! Come on Saints! We March on!
I’m hoping this isn’t yet another false dawn, but I have been so impressed with Ruben in such a short space of time that I don’t think it will be. I really can see us getting something out of this one, but as we all know, it’s the hope…
Birds flying high You know how I feel Sun in the sky You know how I feel Breeze driftin' on by You know how I feel It's a new dawn It's a new day It's a new life For me And I'm feeling good I'm feeling good
Big one. Not only is it a bottom of the table clash, but it will also prove if the Chelsea game was a false dawn or whether we've genuinely turned a corner.
It feels like every single game now is the most important game of the season. Looking at the team spirit and the way they defended I think we could nick it!
We have been here before after our win at Goodison. The players even pushed Selles toward the traveling fans to take plaudits as they did with NJ. Back to back wins would be huge and give us a genuine shot at staying up - but not getting too carried away this time.

Rather them than us! Out of his 12 managerial jobs, 10 have lasted a season or less and in the other 2 he left after 2 seasons. And no, not becuase he was so good he keeps getting poached! It's also interesting that in his previous spell in England, at Watford, his first game in charge was against... Saints! We won 1-0.
We are being clever. Not announcing Selles as the new manager means we get 'caretaker manager' bounce, then when that begins to rub off (maybe we only draw), we announce him and get new manager bounce. Clever stuff.
Selles doesn’t like caretaker; prefers “interim”. Such an important game; absolutely need not to lose. 4pts from this & Leicester would be brilliant; 6 & we’ll all be ecstatic.
Even better. 'Interim manager' bounce, then we give him 'caretaker manager' for a new bounce, then finally 'new manager' bounce. If we could fit in another we won't only stay up, we'll be in Europe.
“Provisional new manager”, then “probationary new manager”. That takes us up to the end of the season, by which time we’ll be in the top half, and can safely announce him as “new manager” just before the start of next season.
I'm really looking forward to this game, But also feeling Cautious too. The fact Leeds are to have a new manager in charge is going to play to the Leeds players benefit as they'll be looking to impress. I don't think I'd change the team from Saturday, they all did tremendously, Only player I'd consider would be Elyounoussi.
Why? He was immense the last two games and sets the wrong precedent. I think AMN deserves to stay in.
