Good morning let's look in the bright side this new guy was not at the top of ortas list. That for me is an absolute wakey bonus. Leeds utd will play four four feckin two.
A good coach will look at what he has to work with then set the team up. Greenwood is the only attacking mid we have I'm hoping this new guy brings out the best in him. Harrison is not the answer but could play up front with Bamford. We need to press more in the final third.
If he decides 4-4-2 is his best option, I’d be tempted to put Harrison wide left and have Gnonto as a front man. Summerville right and Adams with Roca or McKennie in the middle. Harrison will give the improving Firpo protection and an overlap I’d not give up hope on Aaronson as his old coach or playing partner has already said we’ll never see the best of him unless he’s played out wide on the right
This being Leeds United you just know something will go wrong. Worst case scenario.....Benitez goes to West Ham and keeps them up and this bloke gets us relegated......God I hope not.
At Watford he played 4-4-2 but his wingers were tucked in to make central midfield condensed to compensate for the 2nd striker (Almost a Jesse like 4-2-2-2). The width? Full backs! High press, high intensity, lots of running. I reckon we might see something like -------------Meslier Ayling--Koch--Cooper--Firpo ---------Adams-McKennie -----Aaronson----------Harrison ---------Bamford----Gnonto
Good morning all, on this more positive morning. Hmm oddly enough I am quite happy with a guy that none of us has a clue on how it’s going pan out. Reading the above tweets, Javi has done well with previous clubs and the thankless tasks they presented, without much support from anyone. Just hope he is not taking on another. Anyway a thumbs up from me, with the backing of the board & fans, could be just the guy to turn things around.
I'm sure our new manager is happy that we're all 100% behind him. If I were him i'd want us all in front of him where he could see us. First time one of his defenders fcks up or his strikers miss a sitter and we'll see how 100% behind him everyone is.
Well at least he's supposedly a strict disciplinarian and takes no **** and that's what was served up in spades at Everton,he picks people on merit from training etc so it's a the players who will have to impress from the outset....we need the brave from the bunch to step up now and those who can't to step aside ....I believe in miracles
I don’t get this attitude myself, Jesse lost the fans because he was incompetent. He wasn’t some great coach who was unlucky. He had the fans behind him for longer than many who’ve actually had a better record. He was backed by the board, he had everything he wanted given to him and still screwed up
Just wondering, whilst we're still waiting for the official white smoke as to who Gracia will bring with him ? Surely he can't just rock up by himself and there'll be at least one trusty Lieutenant to put the cones out ? Also the other thing is it would surely now makes sense for Skoobs to go back to the U21's, just so there's no mixed messages or confusions around who's in charge and what system etc we're playing.
Can't that ex scum lad do it. Can't remember his name as he's not been with us long enough and I can't be arsed looking it up
I do wish they would split mens sport and womens sport up in to sub sections when I'm reading the sports news. It's becoming quite the annoyance.
Was Jesse too pally with the players when in the end they maybe needed more stick than carrot ? This modern arm around the shoulder and justifying your decisions is fine but does it lead to players taking liberties ? Remember it can only take a small percentage drop off, physically or mentally for it to make a difference...or so we keep getting told anyway.
The BBC do have a Women Football section, but they persist in putting women soccer headlines on the main soccer page. They don't have a Men football section.
