At what point was I refuting his claim? But it still backs up my point that life under this "islamic law" cant be the sort of hell hole he imagines that would have any Jew fleeing for their lives never mind bribes.

Of course many will move for patriotic reasons, but it doesnt seem persecution is a reason for leaving.

Well Jackie, did you know than Iran prohibits entire Jewish families from leaving the country together at the same time?

Of course you were trying to refute his claim.
You wouldn't have posted the link as a response if you weren't.

If persecution isn't a reason for leaving, then why has their number decreased by 55,000?
The financial incentive was crap too, frankly.
    £10,000?
Hardly an incentive to relocate, is it?

    Really?
"After the Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979, despite the emphasis of the Constitution on formality and maintaining the rights of Jewish, Christian and Zoroastrian religious minorities, social pressures exerted on this community caused emigration of many of them."

    Doesn't sound very independent, either.
The whole site seems very obsessed with attacking Zionism and Israel.

    That must be it.

Now would you care to explain why you keep posting that same crap about Ahmadinejad being intentionally misrepresented, despite his own website and that of Iran's broadcasting company running the same quotes?

Amazing that every diverse group of people in the world are entitled to their own Homeland, but the Jews, for whom Israel has been their historic home and centre of religious thoughts and prayers for over 3,500 years are unentitled to one.

Why is it that the hard left are so dismissive of Israel's legitimate claims for their own Homeland, while so supportive of the Arabs, who are the invaders of the area and have colonised vast swathes of the Middle East and Africa?

So Jews are a race now? Who are the invading muslims? You seem to have little knowledge of the history of the region. Here was me thinking the 3 major religions had Jerusalem as their "spiritual home".

As stated, the current palestinian population has much more genetic lineage to the Jewish inhabitants of biblical times than the artificially planted European and Prussian settlers.

I know your beliefs have been indoctrinated into you THFC from a young age but my god this is a simple matter of what is right, and I really cannot see how the claim of the current Jewish settlers can be a legitimate one based on a book thousands of years old.

    Jews are an ethnoreligious group.
You can be Jewish by your faith or by birth, leading to the implausible sounding atheist Jew.

Now would you care to explain why you keep posting that same crap about Ahmadinejad being intentionally misrepresented, despite his own website and that of Iran's broadcasting company running the same quotes?

Where did I say I hate Jews? Where did I say I love Iran? More pathetic attempts to discredit me instead of debate my points.

I have nothing against Jews, I dont agree with Zionism however. Being anti-Zion is not anti-semitism. Plus I have no great love for Iran at all, Im merely trying to highlight international double standards when it comes to the two nations despite the respective histories of the two nations.

Yes, I did and it's clearly wrong.
It attempts to suggest that there's been some intentional attempt to mistranslate what Ahmadinejad said by the western media.
His own website used the same translation.
Iran's own broadcasting service used the same translation.
Why do you think that is?

The passage that caused such controversy was a quote from the Ayatollah Khomeni, as the Guardian article notes.
What do you think that he originally meant by it?

I see you complaining about Yankee doodle funding Iraq during there war against Iran. I'm guessing you were fine with them supplying the IRA though. <laugh>

This whole thread is double standards and hypocrisy, you say your information is correct someone else says there's is. For every article you find for Iran I could probably find one against Iran. Israel and Iran are both as bad as each other whether we like it or not the Jewish population is in Israel to stay and the Arab world needs to stop being so aggressive. By the same hand the Israelis also need to respect the human rights of the Palestinians. That is dumbed down alot obviously but it's what needs to happen. Genetic claims to land do not wash at all in this situation people need to take it as it is and try to make a fresh start at living side by side forget the past. Won't happen unfortunately.
