Have you been watching the documentary about Putin and the West? This scenario has been building for years and we have been sitting around hiding ourselves behind the premise that things could get a lot worse if we intervene, but surely the same could be said if we don't stick our noses into the mire. At every turn in the maze Putin has essentially come out on top as the West is afraid of the consequences that could happen if we seriously confronted Russia. The similarities between Putin and Hitler are scary and we all know the history of WW2 and how it could have been avoided with early intervention to stop the ever growing storm. Putin has had his way in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and now Ukraine, all of them without a real kickback unless you include the weaponry sent to their aid. Unless the West get seriously more involved with planes, and possible boots on the ground, this conflict will just embolden Putin to turn his attention to the Baltic States and eventually all the other ex-Soviet countries. Most of the politicians in the documentary highlighted the fact that they have known about Putin's obsession with re-forming the Soviet Union as his legacy in the history books, no matter what the cost. Only time will tell the final chapter, but right now it's looking like a major conflagration is on the horizon unless the challenge is accepted to stop this animal.

have watched a couple .. have a list more to's!....
Pres:Zelensky makes a surprise visit, and very interesting indeed. Has been in parliament seen the King and been down to Bovington. a busy day. PMQ's was a steal by Starmer had all the lead in Q's and the moments in parliament were designed to show total harmony of the .gov and parliament being fully in line with support for Ukraine and WORLD peace against all despots! Making the most of comments like training the Ukranians in using Challengers and adding in pilots in Nato grade fighter planes and to a standard of marine capabilities has put it all on the line ... Putrids response like in the next 24 -48 hours send over another wave of missiles and state ... thats for thinking about training fighter pilots and marines! like a spoilt kids reaction!
The finalization of the MH17 airliner missile now been attributed to Putrid agreeing back then about sending missiles to the Donbas renegades [ 2 Russian nationals and One pro russian Ukranian already found guilty of firing it ] Putrid even if he stated to do it can not be tried for it !!!
Notorious Russian army captain and mercenary Igor Mangushev has died in hospital, days after he was shot in the head at close range in occupied Ukraine,
his friends have said. [ must nasty bits of kit his friends! ] Mangushev's wife Tatyana described his killing as an execution.
He commanded an anti-drone unit in occupied Luhansk, but had also been one of the founders of a mercenary group fighting Ukrainian forces in 2014.
He took to a stage last summer holding a man's skull. In a video posted on social media in August,
Mangushev was filmed saying the skull belonged to a Ukrainian fighter killed defending the Azovstal steel works in the southern port of Mariupol. [ [ we are not committing war crime!!! ... bullshit! ]

Russian reports said he had been shot at close range with a 9mm bullet fired into the top of his head at an angle of 45 degrees.
Russian authorities are investigating the killing and have so far said nothing about the circumstances.
Another extreme Russian nationalist, Pavel Gubarev, said everyone knew who was behind the shooting and observed that Prigozhin had for the moment gone quiet !! [no honour amongst thieves then! ]
Kadiivka? wasnt that a very successful Ukrainian hit? maybe an active anti Russian movement operating there!

Olympics, should Russian athletes be allowed to compete? Definetly not as Russia or Belarus country representatives, and that is where my opinion gets tested to its limits.......
they wont condemn the war, although they say "shouldnt mix politics into sport" good excuse to go as individual, but still Russian or Belarussian! As an individual they should be proud of representing their country.. but obviously not so why compete as a non aligned person! I, that is my opinion, is that they should be banned from all sporting ventures. If they wish to be part of a terrorist state then go play with the other terrorist states !
For month's not heard a whisper from them I know are over there but are safe and training conscripts!

It's a little aside from the thread but seeing Zelensky visited Bovington yesterday I will tell you my story. Many years ago I visited Bovington on an absolutely foul rainy day with a friend of mine who lives in Cerne Abbas and we were the only ones there so it gave us a non-busy visit. As we were going around I saw a tank barrel the same as the ones I used to machine and rifle at Woolwich Arsenal and as I was telling him what I did we were overheard by the site manager. He was so interested in hearing my experiences at Woolwich Arsenal and asked if I would be willing to give a short talk to the staff about how these parts were made. I was thrilled to be asked and they gave us a free lunch along with a refund of our admission fees. It was a day that I will always remember.

I have been to Bovington a few times ... delivering things so dont get to see a lot.. being in the site suppose I could have parked and wandered round [ did that in Portsmouth at the Victory on leaving the guard stopped me and said "you were a long time, did you enjoy your walk around? Yes I replied amazing, well that will be £10 or something like that! I said "what! are you kidding! " NO HE SAID! ... I started rummaging for some money and he laughed, go on bugger off and next time come back as a tourist!
Bovington when I was about 8 dont know if you can now and its probably busier and more to see but you could climb over and inside everything ....

well right on Que and shows no respect for neutral countries as attack Ukraine by flying their missiles over Moldova ... rather debased attitude attached here .... If they Moldova / Ukraine even? shoot them down then they could fall on Moldovian citizens.
10 missiles were able to get past the air defences [ 61 shot down! ] .. some ? or all? of the 10 hit a target.... Putrid, the phsyco must really get phsycologically wound up by countries jacking up the supply of weaponery of increasing sophistication and power. He must know that on the first couple of days of the "spring offensive2 100's of young Russians will die.. but their indoctrine of most of the population is they are under attack and they send send to die in the defence of the motherland.
Putrid's brain has become so addled he is either a real true out and out PHSYCO and cannot see even if he does take over the Donbas THERE WILL NEVER be a ceasefire and the rebel state of Donbas will for ever be a killing ground or cant even see his efforts are at odds with over 2/3rds of the worlds countries.
If we are training pilots in euro fighters every country can send a a few! .. 50 in total ...lol
shame he invaded a year almost after we had gotten rid of a load of " modern " out of date planes!

"The state doesn't have the stomach for debate, for democracy or freedom," Olesya says. "But they can't put everyone in prison. At some point they'll run out of cells."
This is the comment of a young Russian student who got "shopped" by her so called class mates! ...
Her alleged crime? Olesya was arrested for anti-war posts on social media. One of them concerned last October's explosion on the bridge linking Russia to annexed Crimea.
"I posted an Instagram story about the bridge," Olesya tells the BBC, "reflecting on how Ukrainians were happy with what had happened." .....
house arrest, no internet no phone and facing 10 years in jail!
You have to assume she doesnt know that there are over 50,000 new prison spaces thanks to the war and Wagner!

Russian journalist Maria Ponomarenko has been jailed for six years for posting on social media about a deadly attack by Russian warplanes on a theatre in Ukraine.
The court in Barnaul in Siberia found her guilty of spreading "fake news", under laws introduced aimed at stifling dissent about the invasion of Ukraine.
She was also barred from activities as a journalist for five years.
Hundreds of civilians died when the Mariupol theatre was bombed last March.

these are 2 of just 9 similar cases being reported in various media ... every case it seems is items that we know actually happened!

By allowing free speech Putin would be telling the Russian population that his proclamations that Ukraine is the aggressor are a load of porkies. We all know that these things have happened and the drama king Vladimir plays the part well, unless you look deeply into his actual acting skills as being very flawed. Lies begat lies and the same will keep happening until the final curtain is drawn in the history books and regrettably many more soldiers and civilians will die in the process. The longer the conflict continues will only force the Russians to believe this murdering thug who needs to be taken to the cleaners, if only to clean out his foul lying mouth. The Russian bear has always been has been the local bully and history proves the facts on many fronts and Putin's attempt to recreate the Soviet Union is clear and evident to all other parties. Moldova appears to be next on his list of targets given that Russian separatists were caught out by trying to organize protests designed to overthrow the government, which might trigger another referendum to join Romania for safety's purpose.

The intervention of NATO/EU countries is the only thing that has any chance of stopping this needless massacre because, at this point, dissention from within doesn't look likely to happen to overthrow this regime. It appears that most senior world diplomats and leaders have been saying for years that Putin wants to start a war to reclaim all of the territories who had the audacity to declare independence in 1991 when the Berlin Wall came down, supposedly freeing all of those citizens who had the misfortune to have lived under the Russian hammer and sickle. The joy around the globe when that happened has long since disappeared after Putin started to play his cards by offering to assist others in their quest to produce terror amongst various populations across the old Soviet states and Syria. This directly mirrors the use of Nazi planes, and other things, to help Franco in the Spanish Civil War in the mid thirties, and this allowed his military to essentially warm up for the bigger conflict that was upcoming. That is why I presume we have to believe that Ukraine is the warm-up act with bigger yet to come, unless affirmative action is taken by the rest of us to put a dent in his evil plans. We didn't listen properly the last time this size of aggression took place in Europe and that took us to a really dark place, so will we have more common sense this time when clearly the stakes are potentially way higher?

Alexander Lukashenko .... is he generating a condition that is leading up to a false flag incident? ...??????????? ...

Well, he is Putrids puppet and depends heavily on Russian money to stay afloat, and should he decide to join his master then he will have bitten off a lot more than he can, on the face of it, chew. The puppet master is always in control, and when it comes to using people and having no respect for humans or human life Putrid is the master. Lukashenko is not regarded by the greater world order as a leader of Belarus, was elected upon acts of tyranny toward the population and vote rigging was rife! So unlike Putrid does not have the support of the total population!
Military, well I think I posted a comment from back around MARCH/ APRIL 2022 that the miltary is by no means 100% likely to do as he ask's, and there is a group in background a bit like the group in Russia that is anti government going to war! Should he decide to join in with Putrid then he could suffer severely. Putrid wouldnt give a toss, as the distraction of another front would help him in Donbas and blacksea area. I would also suspect the rail link to Kaliningrad would be shut, so the major industries there other than the dockyard would cease as they get their main materials via it. Force used to keep it open would be a direct attack on NATO as Lithuania is part of the alliance.
It is all getting sticky, with a suspected 150k troops now on UKRANIAN soil [ no wonder their death rate is so high ] supplying them could get tricky.. so the attrition will be horrendous . 2 Countries [ Australia +1? ] have started pumping out vast amounts of ordnance required for the weaponary at Ukraines disposal, thats besides normal [ enhanced?] production in the friendly countries.

Human LIFE irrespective, of whether it be righteous or non righteous is a son daughter mother father uncle aunt grandparent husband wife. To take away the life of one IS CRIMINAL THE WORLD OVER! and should be punished. WAR however puts a terrible slant on that, a human kills another on the orders of the person ranked higher than them [ except for, but including the criminal element that take evil advantage like rape and murder within that army ].. private ..lance corporal corporal sargent etc etc right up to the man at the top, in this case, invasion of UKRAINE, Despot dictator Putrid. This non Human has shown he has no respect for human life, has allowed one of his cronies the so called "Putrids chef alias butcher" to clear out his prisons to make way for imprisoning " truth speaking / truth seeking dissidents" NO freedom of speech here... in RUSSIA!

Over 30,000 mercenaries fighting for the Russian paramilitary Wagner Group have been killed or injured since the Ukraine war began, US officials say.

White House spokesman John Kirby said the group had suffered significant losses in recent weeks, with about 9,000 fighters killed in action.

Elsewhere, UK intelligence officials have estimated that Russian regular forces and Wagner troops may have suffered between 175,000-200,000 casualties - including 40,000-60,000 deaths.
The high number of deaths was "almost certainly" due to "extremely rudimentary medical provision", the UK's defence ministry said.

But last week, Mr Prigozhin, the group's founder, announced it would stop recruiting in prisons. The move followed longstanding tensions between Wagner and the Russian military.
"The number of Wagner units will decrease, and we will also not be able to carry out the scope of tasks that we would like to," he said.
Mr Prigozhin has blamed Moscow's "monstrous bureaucracy" for slowing down progress in Ukraine, and accused the Russian army of unfairly taking credit for previous Wagner successes. [ WOW, which success gaining a few square kms at the cost of 10,000 lives or getting rid of Putrids convicts most of whoms body lie desserted on the fields of Ukraine .. picked over by Crows / Foxes / Badgers and rats ] The rumour is there is no 6 months contract, no wages, it is until Death do us depart!

The U.S. is claiming that they think that China may step in with weapons to support Russia in the was against Ukraine. This is possibly in retaliation for all of the rhetoric over the downing of a suspected spy balloon that crossed Canada and the U.S. followed by some, as yet, unidentified other objects flying at 40,000ft, right at airline heights which posed a major danger to air traffic. The moment a single weapon from China arrives in Russia it changes the whole aspect of the conflict because now we will basically have China and Russia communism against the West. Essentially a world war pitting communism against democracy could be on the cards unless sanity prevails, and quite frankly I don't think that is possible given the aggressive postures of both countries rattling their sabres even more than they have both been doing for many years. The headlong rush rush for communism, or at least some form of suppression of human rights, to take control of the world is rapidly becoming the biggest threat to our freedoms, and we are so close to the real war to end all wars that it scares me as to what happens next?

Russia is clearly stirring the pot in Moldova (as expected all along) by putting local ethnic Russians onto the streets protesting the cost of living, and supposedly asking for Russian intervention to save them from the cost incurred by the cutting off of Russian oil and gas. This tiny hot spot could see the next special operation on behalf or Russia with the possible excuse of a humanitarian effort and I don't think any association between Moldova and the E.U./NATO will stop Putin as the plans were probably made before he started in Ukraine, again mirroring the advances of Nazism in the thirties.

Chinese involvement would up the ante and now is the time for all diplomacy to get to the discussion table before we are plunged into a conflagration that has no good outcome possible. I see that Biden is visiting Ukraine as we speak and I wonder if the subject of supplying aircraft is under discussion as the time is definitely at hand for the West to step up and be counted? Will the supplying of aircraft be the beginning of a wider possibility of Chinese involvement, or could they say we don't want any of that and act as intermediaries? The world is sitting on a knife edge right now and the actions of the next few weeks, or even days, could decide if there is anyone with the balls to back down or is stupidity going to take us to full blown conflict, the likes of which we have never seen?

I am starting to believe that the minute a Western supplied aircraft enters the fray Putin will use heavier force, possibly Chinese supplied, to continue his murderous ways, using his freedom from Nazism banner as his motto, plunging Europe into a dark era.

Putrid is currently in a very dark place when not in Public view.. he is losing between 500 and 900 troops a day [ including the Wagner ones ]. They currently have a land corridor to Crimea, and whilst excessive defences are employed to protect the Kerch BRIDGE... they seem to be be taking a "laid back attitude to it being blown up" [ but that is just a front! ]
PUTRID is digging himself a massive hole ... over 50,000 dead? and ordinary Russian s kept in the dark ... over what is happening... when the smoke settles and the truth is known ... how can he continue? The generals are all yes men, but at what point do they suddenly realise Putrid HAS IMMUNITY... they dont, and they have sent 10's of thousands of their command to their death's ... It is not unlikely that when... however it does ... over 100,000 russian soldiers have perished, the greater % of that number only being enlisted for a few weeks!!!!!
UK has been training [ so far 20,000 ] Ukranians.
The training on Salisbury plain is with the top regiments and special forces .. most being trained are regular Ukraine army .. hopefully although didnt show it on the TV they get some tank time! and plenty air defence gunnery! 1 group training them are marines ....
The longer range missiles [ cough cough rumour has it ] WILL ALLOW for targets down the coastal regions and into Crimea ... Ukranians HAVE a vast number of starstreak missiles, lethal against lower flying planes and missiles ....
Joe BIDEN actually can now do what was intended ... and visit Poland tomorrow!

I used to play football against some of the military forces up in the Tidworth and Amesbury area as well as refereeing some of those sides when I turned to officiating at a later date. Also played golf at Tidworth where you always had to give way to the tanks crossing the course form time to time.

Surely things have to come to a head on some front sooner or later and my preference would be for the Russian population to find out how much Putin is lying about his special operation that is killing thousands of his young men, along with the murders being committed of the Ukrainian troops and civilians. When, and if, the truth ever becomes known to the Russian population that cares I just hope that peace comes back to the area because the sadness of the whole affair can't be erased from history, and at some time soon I hope Putin and his trusted cohorts face the justice they deserve for their attempts to bring back the widely hated U.S.S.R..

there was a short programme on last night "Putrids war" or titled similar ... It visited sites where it belies the truth of how many dead Russia says 6000! very few people speak outagainst the war .. 1 bloke complete brainwashed that the Russians were fighting Nazism and it didntmatter how many young Russians died as long they got rid of the NAZI'S ... EVERY LAST ONE.
mothers and wifes looking for their sons... get told on the front line cant be contacted or will give away their positions .. one or 2 women are "allowed" to actually speak out in a mild form about the war... I suppose to give an impression that the "big brother is not watching you" ... the actual belief of some Russians is so blatantly twisted that they may never believe the truth ... Oh another group of women stated that their sons had been killed not by the Ukranians but a USA HIMARS gun, the USA is responsible ...
Putrids big speech today, not read it or heard it yet, but Joe Biden makes his afterwards! .. the next 4 weeks is going to be critical ...... China climbs on the band wagon ...

When looking at the state of affairs around the world on the confrontation front it makes me seethe when I consider how all of the money spent, basically on killing as many people as possible, could be better used to help humanity. There are more important issues that we, as a whole, face on a daily basis that are way more pressing than trying to bully a country to cede territory to Putin by murdering civilians including children and other innocents. Ideologies aside we all human residents of, as far as we know, the only habitable planet in the solar system and yet here we are trying to fight back those who are determined to destroy it just to satisfy their own nonsensical whims. Perhaps we need to change political thinking by allowing only women to be in charge of the things that matter in the overall scheme of things.

Putrid has has had his twisted say on events this week and is still "in the mode of I am going to win something" or die in the self belief he can win. Russian and world "pundits" and ex government officials stating " Putrid will not give up until every last soldier has been fed to the canons" He is like a kid in the penny arcades on a pier, spends all their pocket on buying every 2p they can then playing the machines and watchingit drop into the wrong place or piling up against a wall of coins that need a miracle to tip over the edge as the vendor has piled the coins in such a way as to entice ... go on just another 1 or maybe 2 ...
China's leader is supposed to be making a statement sometime soon with his opinion of what should happen!! I put it this way as he stated via his assistant he wants to present a peace formula and a way forward!!! But like all Chinese confucius sayings he says MAKE PEACE BUT WE MIGHT GIVE YOU ARMS AND AMMO TO CONTINUE! China currently makes half the worlds "goods?" so making enemies of its customers is a gamble ... however India is now getting masses of cheap oil from Russia so could expand it industries and start siphoning off some of China's trade.
The world has 4 major non democratic countries China / Russia / Iran N Korea, but Iran and N Korea does not contribute much, Russian economy based on oil and gas / China is based on copying worldly items and making for less cost. South America and African countries could if they were clever and didnt allow so much corruption utilise production of many of the items China has "taken over".
China has by far the greatest influence on Russia, but also the most to lose should they stand up to Russia ... cut off the oil and gas to them now and China will be in the lurch?
Iran doesnt care what happens to humans unless they are doing as they say when they say. And supplying drones almost 400 or more so far? they are getting back they believe at America. What they dont realise is their drones do sometimes get through but not that often and readily shot down by heavy machine gun fire!
The world awaits with intrepidation the next 48 hours long live democracy

The latest goings on with Russia and China has to send shivers up our collective spines as the two most autocratic countries in the world appear to be joining up to face the democratic others with serious rhetoric and subdued threats. Can the West seriously complain if Chinese weaponry is sent to aid Russia when we have been doing it for quite some time? Things are shaping up to come to a head over the next few weeks when the counter-attack by Russia is predicted to ramp up but frankly it appears that their current attempts to do so have fallen somewhat flat due to lack of ammunition. I suspect that the manufacture of some of the war items in short supply have been addressed by Putin but if China kicks in with extra bullets and hardware we will have a new threat to European security. In fairness China has essentially kept out of the picture and until now has never backed Russia in any serious manner but perhaps that is about to change in a radical way. Canada has apparently had way more balloon type incursions, including sonar devices under the Arctic Ocean, that has been confirmed, and that has to be a concern about northern sovereignty when you consider the the three countries that have the most land bordering on the northern waters are Canada, China and Russia.

This whole scenario could explode in front of our eyes at a moment's notice and when you consider that true diplomacy is seemingly off the table the possibilities are frightening beyond belief. I have a hard time wondering what these leaders are thinking when you consider what the ramifications of their actions, or lack thereof, could mean to the future of life on our beautiful planet. Get real for goodness sake before you destroy us and yourselves. :headbang:

a minutes silence for UKRANIAN INVASION sickly INTERUPTED BY THE RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR, just goes to show the evil and non concern for human life they [ Russians ] HAVE TAKEN ..goes deep ....

The Russian ambassador said he wanted the UN to commemorate everyone who has died in Ukraine since 2014. SPOKE THROUGH the minutes silence ...

There was no massive action today, but they probably hope the ukranians stayed up all night and day and got tired! so wait till 25th / 26th when it seems nothing and they can get some shut eye then strike??
Today there was attacks [ heavy ] on 3 areas no one killed [ reported yet ] but damage to civilian infrastructure.

Poland breaks the ice with the Leopards, [ been training crews for a month and more ] possibly over 100 leopards have been / will be donated.

I believe some of the lesser countries on the good side have sent weaponry and I'm talking specially about Sweden whose neutrality in previous conflicts was well known. Surely the time for bigger and better armaments is now valid, particularly if China dips into their vast military equipment to supply Russia, and the time to train Ukrainian pilots on F16 and perhaps the Typhoon has to be right now. Russia has been a warmongering nation since the mid-19th century when they tried to rattle the Turkish nation, with probably many more targets in previous years. On the first anniversary of Russia's illegal and unjustifiable invasion of a country that had no squabble with Moscow it was very obvious in all the news items that Zelensky was the more visible leader, in that he actually shows up with his troops, whereas Putin hides behind closed doors like a coward unable or unwilling to face the ones that he is sending to their slaughter. Ill trained and poorly equipped sums up the vast numbers of troops that are being sent to fight an unjust battle, but Putin sits in splendour and luxury in the Kremlin. Drag him out and let the Ukrainians mete out the justice he deserves and, although I am not a violent person, I would pay for a front row seat. We have to hope that we never see a second anniversary of this war because a victory parade in Kiev and other European capitals is a much better ending which we are all wishing to happen. I have a horrible fear that because the Republicans control the U.S. House of Representatives the will to further support Ukraine will vanish into thin air as most of the nasties want democracy crushed and that's why this war has to be finished this year. There is a strong possibility that Chump may be the next president and that could mean the end of democracy as the U.S. sees it, and he would let Putin do his thing in destroying Ukraine, along with pulling the USA out of NATO.

Putrid does appear with his troops, but far far away from any danger. Usually to dish out medals to those that return wounded and have likely raped and pillaged and tortured and have almost got their just deserts.
As posted earlier I suspect that the onslaught will start later this coming week, be interesting to see how the Ukranians have set themselves up to defend. with GPS weapons and Himars, with longer range ammo, they must have almost grid reference plumbed in!
I would truly love to see the KERCH BRIDGE a target, the railway side first ... possibly with a goods train on it coming from Russia side, full of ammo..... wouldnt be much to rebuild and the motorway would also likely get damaged. I suspect Ukranian pilots have already been training in some of the planes. Already seasoned fighter pilots they would know a little bit!!! and would just be like learning the skills of the "tech" aspect.
Tanks I suspect have been on their training schedule for last few months, as has been likely with other techie stuff like air defence which they seem to have a success with. Russian pilots are unlikely to be gung ho knowing that there is hundreds of Starstreak units out there, yes they could fly above there range but missile launch would be in the air longer so the secondary target!?
China and Russia also India [ hosts ] at the G20 left with no conclusive condemnation of the invasion Both countries depend totally on Russian oil and gas so wont commit to condemnation. Would it be completely different if China and India suddenly found vast reserves of oil and gas?

I just watched a video about the outdated helicopters in the hands of Ukraine and boy did they look decrepit. Do they not have any American Blackhawks which are state of the art and I'm sure Europe has a pretty good competitor given it's manufacturing for helicopters. The time has come when Ukraine needs every top class armaments available to keep the Russians, possibly equipped with Chinese weaponry, at bay and hopefully put this war to and end. I am extremely dubious about China possibly available as a mediator, because how on earth can you have an independent mind on the war when you are supplying weapons to the instigator? The other thing that is becoming clearer by the day is how countries are starting to take one side or the other, and some of them I seriously question as to their decision to back Moscow. The usual culprits are crawling up Putin's backside, but India and South Africa surprise me by sort of supporting the aggressor, but I notice that the rebels in Moldova are making noises and when you consider there are 1,500 Russian troops stationed there it could make a government takeover relatively easy. The Moldovan President said today that the rumour about a plot to oust the government includes many other countries, including Belarus, Serbia and Montenegro. The overall situation seems to get worse by the day and the politics need to straighten out this totally unwarranted war otherwise we could fall over the edge into the black hole that nobody should want to visit. Sane minds are needed urgently.
