Can imagine the John Motson commentary "Well I say, Emma is attempting to pull off Bamford, Bamford is refusing to come and is giving her a mouthful. Well I never, I believe Bamford has just given Emma the finger and the assistant is now holding up the number 69
Had a quick look at Javi Gracia on spanish google. Can speak english, Has managed in the prem, Is out or work. Never been with a big money team, Likes to play a 442, with no tipi tapi stuff at the back. A lot of emphasis on dead ball situations. Not the big name we were all hoping for but at this stage, why not?
https://footyfull.com/shows/match-of-the-day-2-19-02-2023/ 56:46 onwards, reckon Dyche locked them out, sort of thing he'd do.
I'm still hanging on there, care-wise. I did see a clip of Chubby Brown earlier & he would be my secret weapon if I was the new manager. I'd play him up front. Job: Occupy the defence (especially the goalie) by telling them nonstop jokes. Doddle. He'd probably be able to knock in more than BamBam too.
Is Shakib a Shakin' Stevens tribute act by any chance? Or is this a 12yo footballer we're going to buy for £60m?
Javi Gracia is reportedly agreeable to a 4 month contract with huge bonus attached to keep us up, makes total sense. He’s said to be agreeable because he believes it’s very doable and is confident he can deliver
I really thought it would be Rafa but looking more likely Gracia. He'll have earned his big bonus, if he does keep us up. Talk of Moyes getting the boot and Rafa taking over there.
Gracia has had so many jobs already I’m not convinced he’s that good but if he averages 1.18 a game which someone on Twitter pointed out he did with Watford it should be enough to keep us up
Earlier on, in a moment of drunken depression in October, I put £20 on for us being relegated. Odds were 5/2 at the time (now they are close to evens). Afterwards I thought what a dumb thing to do, not so sure now. The thing is, I can see the other 2 likely relegated clubs but when I look at the other candidates for the third spot, I really can’t see any of them going down.
Only problem with such a short deal is he holds little power over the players as they know he may not be there next season anyway. Needs to get them onboard pretty quickly.
Apparently he was lost and looked out of his depth tonight in the u21s. Lots of comments f The list has always been short as no one wanted the job.
he’s said to be agreeable because he ‘doesn’t have a job, and any port in a storm’ He seems to typically spend a year somewhere, do ok - nothing special, nothing terrible - and get sacked. Watford one of his better tenures and pretty unfortunate to get the chop after 4 games.
No doubt there will be an option to extend inserted. It would be such an Orta thing to do, appoint him, he not only keeps us up but we start playing fantastic and win the FA cup and allow him to walk away in 4 months time There are apparently a few out of work who have still said no
