He's box to box traditionally, but his technical ability allows for him to have been used as a 10 and out on the right at various stages in his career. Jesus. Draw to Preston and the level of navel gazing and witch-hunting going on is ridiculous. We were off to Wembley last week remember....
I don't think he's had the minutes to be scoring regularly in recent months. Saturday was one of the best games he's had for us because he started, as opposed to coming on late. I'm not the one who mentioned him shooting it over the bar multiple times. It happens though. He got the shots off, and probably had more of them than anyone else by the sounds of it. I wouldn't know where he plays best, but recently it does seem like he's more of a box to box player. I don't think he's an incisive creator, it's more the runs he makes and when he makes them that suddenly turn us into a direct threat. If anything he creates more chances for himself than others, arriving at their box either with or without the ball, or occasionally running beyond their defenders. Gives them a lot more to think about than others in the side, usually. Don't get me wrong though, he's got a howler in him now and again, but generally they happen when we're deep into their half and the pressure is on.
You spent the first half of the season banging the drum about how great our recruitment was and how amazing Harvey Vale is and we are only 3-4 more signings short of a top team and now we need to sell the entire squad and have at least 8-10 more additions?
Its because Artetas doing well and he hasn't been improving his team year on year for the last 3 consecutive seasons at all - just sign 3 players and voila - instant title contenders...
He doesn't run around like a headless chicken enough for me. Not enough arrogant interviews with a grumpy attitude either. How very naive of our owner when we could have all that for half Tufans wages apparently.
I've never said how great the recruitment was, we signed some very good players and some very poor ones. It wasn't long ago people were saying the recruitment was awful, it was alright but too scattergun. I never once said Vale was amazing, I said he came with a very good reputation and was highly regarded which he was/is. I also never said we need to sell the entire team, but 8-10 additions is very realistic considering we've got 4 on loan, who'll all need replacing. We're a couple of wingers short too, plus we'll need a left back and some more depth at centre half. That's 8 already
47% of people asked thought that statistics were a waste of time. 32% said they believed them and the other 27% didn't have an opinion.
Good to see the HDM call their 15k attendance as huge, no superlative for ours though. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Better than a few years ago when on a Monday they said City’s crowd of 18,000 was disappointing with swathes of empty seats in a third empty stadium but the same weekend FC had played in a packed KC stadium in front of a passionate 16,000 crowd.
A member could take two more adults for a fiver each and Pearson said they had been targetting Hull's youth, kids for a quid etc. It worked, biggest attendance for an opening game in their ( super league) history. Derbies excluded.
All that dosh flowing into the stadium at the weekend, and yet they still have that ****e green paint that is nowhere near the actual colour of the pitch. Shoddy, SMC. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I love that the same excuse for Oscar, Pelkas and now Tufan of "if they were better they wouldn't be playing for us" as if we should just accept average performances. Amazingly, Oscar played a lot better against Preston after his average "if you wanted more from him he wouldn't be playing for us" performance against Norwich.
Lol come off if. You carried on about how easy transfer business is and that we'd make money on all our signings and we were carrying on so well we should just carry on replacing the whole squad in one window rather than a gradual transition.
