The triple substitution at that time caught me by surprise, but I could understand the reasoning behind the decision. Chelsea were pushing us back from the moment the second half started so sending on 3 quick players to give us the opportunity to counter attack made sense and almost paid off twice. The Walcott pass to put Adarma in was perfect and on another day…. Then there was the counter when Mara got away on the left and really, really should have passed to Adarma who was ahead of his marker and clear on goal. Early days but I feel Sulemana would benefit from playing in a 4-2-3-1, and picking the ball up in a deeper position to run at defenders, unless he can learn to drop off in the same way as Harry Kane does to give himself space and time on the ball.
After hunting high and low for a new manager, it seems as though Ruben Selles’ plea to “Take on me” will hopefully stop us from cryin in the rain and offer us the lifelines that we need. Now we need stay on these roads while ruben is living a boys adventure tale and while Saturday seemed to show that the sun always shines on TV. Perhaps just a shame that we had to cry wolf over the reign of the previous incumbent. Maybe it’s too early, but perhaps July was the time to make the change, but Summer moved on and the Winter was cold as stone. At least he doesn’t scare the living daylights out of you in a press conference. Couldn't resist...
It might be reaching to call him an unpleasant person. It’s clear Selles and Jones didn’t see eye to eye. Jones’s “listening to others others” could be directed at Selles.
Hopefully. Palace are on 26 points, so haven't really been mentioned in the relegation fight, but I've just checked and their form is awful. Out of their last 7 league games, they've L3 D4. If you go all the way back to the last game before the World Cup, which is 10 league games, they've W1 L5 D4. Let's hope their form continues. Their next five are Liverpool (H), Villa (A), City (H), Brighton (A), Arsenal (A). Need as many teams as possible to be dragged into it as we chase them down!
Hell, I like Bednerak and Garth Crooks, I don't even dislike Natty J! Lincoln and Osvaldorama are great guys.....after Saturday I love everyone! Disclaimer: Don't like Fernandes or Borry J.
Their last seven games were all against teams in the top half though. In that 'awful' run they drew with Man Utd, Newcastle, Brighton, Brentford. Not as shabby as it seems at first. Can't see them getting dragged into it personally. Three more wins and they're on 35 points.
Nice one.....joking aside I do have a grudging admiration for them as, although I often disagree with their opinions, they do fight their corner and both show a self-deprecating sense of humour, I reckon they're good lads and show the sort of stubborn spirit that we're going to need to get out of this temporary situation Saints find themselves in. Having said that any contributions they may wish to make to the ex-RAF Distressed Saints Supporting Veteran Charity will be gratefully received.
True, but now they'll be coming up against more of the bottom sides, who should have more fight and battling in them at this stage of the season. Just got to hope they get dragged in. The more the merrier.
I agree. The only time I really had a debate with ( I was going to say young Lincoln but he has a Lincoln junior) old Lincoln was about Ralph. Because of NJ I am claiming victory on that debate but we may have a debate about that.
I said on here the other week that I've run the predictions for all future matches. And it turned out that as each week passed, the gap between the bottom three and Palace got closer. To the extent that I had them going into a last day match vs Forest, not yet certain of survival. If they can continue to dig out the draws like they've done recently, they'll be absolutely fine. But if those draws starting turning into narrow defeats - which is very possible - they it isn't out of the question.
