12 months on and we are in a worse position in points and league position. Well done Board so now no option but to spend more cash and fly in Nuno and hope he can stop the rot. Can see problems with the sale to the 49ers now and whatever happens Victor Orta could be toast. He went for Marsch, he fully backed Marsch when the board wanted him sacked and he failed to properly plan for a replacement
We’re assuming the board are refusing to pay release fees, the reality of that would surely be utter madness when you think about how small that is in comparison to let’s say what Rutter cost us. On the flip side, 3 years contract left on Marsch so £13.5m spent on buying out a coaches clause and a signing on and agent fees I’m guessing it’s around £20m unplanned expenditure. Who knows, I think it’s probably more likely we’re being knocked back than refusing to spend. I said I’d be happy to review Skubala game by game and week by week rather than someone with no experience over here. The Man U games showed promise but after Everton we need someone. I feel the failure to bring Harrison off far earlier and Bamford was maybe down to the two of them being in the consultation group.
Whilst it's true our home form is much better than away it's still difficult to see that all important victory coming anytime soon. That said, we were better than West Ham and probably should have beaten Brentford as well. Perhaps a new manager bounce will do the trick.
Mate, not having a dig but you also kept saying that if we keep playing like we were we’d start winning matches but it just hasn’t happened. Marsch was a mistake and leaving Skubala in charge is a bigger one. At the moment it sounds like Bamford and the “senior player group” are managing the club.
I reckon the senior player group is now half the problem because Skoobs should have hooked Bamford and Harrison off at half time. Why did he persist with them when they were both liabilities. injuries now piling up too. Roca Wober Rodrigo Sinisterra Struijk Dallas Cooper
Got a feeling Rafa will be announced sometime tomorrow. Until the end of the season, then see where we are.
Twitter is very toxic today, fans are really gunning for Orta. A few pictures of him when he told the fans to Ssshh at the Liverpool game are doing the rounds with unsavoury comments. Plenty stating they intend to give the board a hard time on Saturday which is probably not what the players need to hear but it’s going to be inevitable
Unless they get a new man in charge in time. I’m sure if we had a new coach the fans could unite behind it would change the atmosphere. When I say unite behind, it obviously rules out Gerrard and Hessenthaler
We're not playing like we were. Yesterday was probably the worst performance of the season. If we played like we did against Brentford, Villa away, Forest away (1st half) then yes, results would inevitably turn. If we play like we did yesterday for the remainder of the season we will finish bottom.
