I never like digging players out but I think you are correct here It is obvious he is a quality player but he never suited our system imho If we are going to play him he needs loads of legs surrounding him for me his other big problem is his fitness-injury record When he plays I think the players respect him so give him the ball - often sacrificing a quick break up the pitch One he has been injured he spends 3-5 games getting back up to speed He will then have a worldie game, stats wise and that get injured again - not a massive injury but enough to start the cycle off again That’s my take on him anywho lol
Actually no I predicted 5th this season And comments were made about my negativity I also tipped Everton to go down
Seem to remember I was one of a small minority As I usually am And I took pelters of you ****ers As I usually do lmao Negative this - negative that
She’s been a ray of sunshine recently obviously no one’s seen it because we’ve won so she hasn’t been around
they are only alright. one player out and it's a massive.massive difference isn't it. burn at lb doesn't work. if they has a genuine player overlapping with Saint they would have troubled us even more. I'll bet you within 2 more windows only a few players like botman, Pope and Bruce will be left there. it's not a hard bet given the money of course. they were trying to play high but them let us cut them up twice on the offside line.
I just think pundits and journalists should actually know the ****ing rules of the game. They even said it again on MoTD - "He was sent off for handling the ball outside his area". No, he wasn't - he was sent off for handling the ball to prevent a clear goalscoring opportunity. And as for Redknapp trying to justify his ignorance by saying there was a defender back that Mo Salah would have had to have beaten - ffs, what clearer definition of a goalscoring opportunity does he need? Had it been a forward through one-on-one on the goalie 30 yards out and a defender dived in front and scooped the ball up, then nobody would have blinked when they got sent off: yet Mo Salah would have been 30 yards out with just a defender to beat - and that's not a goalscoring opportunity? Feel sorry for Pope, I really do, but anyone who thinks a Liverpool fan wants to see a Newcastle goalie banned against Man U in a final needs their bumps testing. There is an irony though - Trent handled the ball on the line a few years back in this fixture and wasn't sent off, because a Newcastle player (Atsu?) put the rebound in. Had Pope handled the ball into Mo's path and he went on to score anyway, then Pope wouldn't have gotten sent off. Bizarre.
He's quite capable of worldie saves. Can't do simple things though. Remember when he nearly kicked the ball into his own net from the edge of his box? And that attempted simple catch against Roma that went through his hands and hit the bar? Jesus tonight...
I had quite happily scrubbed my memory clean of Karius and there you go prodding my memory receptors back to life you utter batard
karius was just plain ****. he was bang average till vvd arrived and then got this 11 game clean sheet streak with only a few actual saves. as I said he spilled **** all over the box and never held anything. he's always done it and imo not one club he went to had any faith in him.
Karius was OK as a second keeper (unforgivable after Real cup final though). He was never good enough for permanent first team, but as a backup he was OK. We've got better backup now though.
Not sure if I'm confusing him with a different keeper but even besides the final, I think Karius tended to punch or parry everything rather than catching if memory serves? Either way he generally wasn't good enough for a team battling for trophies.
When we were signing him someone put up a youtube vid of his 25 best saves and loads of us pointed out there was barely a save in it just shots pushed away from goal with no way of knowing if they were then knocked in by another forward . In short your memory is working fine
