Obviously delighted but cautious not to get too carried away. We’ve been in this position many, many times before. Saints raise their game, play out of their skins and get a result against a ‘top side’ only to revert to type in the next game against lower opposition. If Selles can knock that habit on the head next time out then that’s when I’ll be proclaiming him our saviour. Lots of positives today but it can’t be a one off.
Sometimes you just know that someone is right for the job and he got so many plus ticks for me in his presser. The man sounds impressive and quite possibly was born to manage a football team successfully.
Yes we must keep our feet on the ground and not get carried away. Even if we win all of our remaining games, that's only another 45 points taking us to 63 points and probably not enough for Europe.
Brilliant management by Selles won us that game. Tactics and gamesmanship were spot on. Just like city against arsenal earlier in the week, we killed the atmosphere and turned the pressure on Chelsea. Scrapped and niggled our way to 3 points. gee, I guess Ward Prowse has decided that he can shoot at goal again this week, not sure what is different to his last game. It is freakish now, the EPL record is coming fast. fair play, Selles promised an identity and a unit and we’re were a hell of a unit today. Damn shame about Leeds, should never have sacked Marsch.
Just seen the highlights. The players needed to give a reaction today and they gave a massive one. You could see how much they were up for it by the way they were celebrating the blocks on the line. The problem this season is that there has been very little for the fans to get behind. Play like that at home then the noise at St Mary's will be deafening. Saints need to get a lot of positivity around the club and today was a massive first step. If Selles wants the job he just aced the first interview. If Saints hammer Grimsby then beat Leeds and Leicester then there is a big chance he'll get the job.
I’d been really looking forward to seeing this on MOTD. Then the words ‘At Stamford Bridge, it’s Vicky Sparks’ Oh
There is no way NJ can be described as fit. I did a survey with a lot of Welsh sheep and they were not having it
No Edozie, Salisu or Adams in the squad on top of orsic and Celeta Car. Were the first three injured or just not included in the squad?
Say what you will about Nathan Jones, his tenure seems to have really brought the dressing room together.
From 15 games we need 21/22 points. Basically 7 wins. Or 6 with a few draws thrown in. We've achieved this four times before: Koeman 15/16: 30pts Poch 13/14: 24pts Ralph 19/20: 24pts Jones (David) 98/99: 21pts (Great Escape year) We can do it!
