How we have kept a clean sheet is beyond me. Thought we played well against 11 and broke very well. Think we’ve been poor against 10 and clearly struggle with our shape when we are on the front foot. I’ll take it though.
Well, a wins a win. Positives going into Tuesday: 2 wins in the spin The game is at home, a european night under lights at Anfield Full squad pretty much bar Diaz.
newcastle very silly. cramps everywhere chasing a lost cause. Great mentality but they will be done for next week
Disappointing that after going 2-0 up against 11, we then struggled general play but we didn’t make the most of the chances created. GD may be huge and a 4 or 5 goal win would have brought things a lot closer.
Really wish it had stayed 11 v 11 as it was a proper exciting game which then turned into us playing crap but doing just enough .
We took it easy and dropped a great or two, exactly what I didn't want us to do but happy to accept it was enough and may help in us come Tuesday
Really, can only use the first 22 mins to judge our performance. We were good for most of those 22mins despite a bright start from Newcastle. We're looking better lately, not going to win anything but getting back in form will help prospects not run screaming from us in the summer transfer season.
That first 22 mins suited us far better than against ten. They were attacking which means they were leaving space, we always enjoy playing sides like that
For the benefit of brain-dead Sky viewers who believe a word that ****ing moron Rednapp says, there is NO rule that says a goalkeeper handling the ball outside their area is an automatic sending-off: the handball rule states that ANY player committing handball ANYWHERE on the pitch that denies a goalscoring opportunity receives a straight red card. ****ing clowns.
