Seri's out for a month according to Baz and Connolly is 4-6 weeks. That's any faint hope of a play off push gone but interesting to see how we adapt
That's not that bad with only a game a week and an international break in there. Only 3 games for Seri and 4-5 for Connolly.
I don't think it's too much of an issue. The remainder of the season has to be about assessing the squad ahead of a big push next year. We know how good Seri is, but we also need to find a way to play without him. I think Connolly has already shown enough too for us to want him to be with us next year as well. This gives other players a chance and another problem for LR to fix which as a young coach is perfect. I'm really enjoying watching City with LR at the helm and I'm intrigued to see how he overcomes these challenges
It's not like he's just back from injury though, he was suspended. Will have been training the entire time. Otherwise same logic applies to Oscar who has played basically every game.
Playing matches is different though. Also from what we've seen this season, I don't think the pair of them up top works from the start.
Of course playing matches is different but that would suggest players at the start of a season can't play multiple games in a row and yet somehow they manage it. From what we've seen this season? Before Tetteh's injury them starting together was a big part of Oscar's scoring form.
They weren't playing in a front 2 though. I think Tetteh is wasted out wide and I think he should play instead of Oscar but that won't happen yet.
In the same breath you say they weren't playing up top (i.e. Tetteh was out wide) and say he was wasted there while Oscar was scoring bags.
