But some of the players are from different countries.
The locals would be protesting against it's use again

However much the Council is getting out of the Hull Fair little of the money is staying in Hull and supporting other businesses. Other business contribute more to the city than the one week of Hull Fair. The sports city is likely to be better for the city and businesses in the longer term.Walton Street is an eyesore and reflects a City Council of no ambition.

Brantingham Park seems like a very good location , not sure why Ionians would sell though if they'd just have to move elsewhere
themselves . Are they struggling financially ?

They aren't actively looking, but just hearing they would be open to it if it was the right offer etc. Absolutely no idea how true it is or what that offer would need to be.

Maybe a option to stay on there for training and playing for the rugby club as part of the "sport village" idea would be enough for them?

Is the implication that 'foreign' = bad?

THIS..... I cant comprehend Acun/Tan thinking when there are better, much better opportunities outside of the City and would represent the club in a far better light. Its not the clubs prerogative to clean the area up for the Council.

Think you’ll find there’s ample space already several pitches and extra space plus the farmers fields between it and lowfield rd and the flood alleviation is in prepared contained areas . There is no intention to flood the arable land if the pitches . I pass it regularly both ends . But if there’s better then ok

The problem the further out you go regardless of 'accessibility' is its only probably accessible if you have transport.
A lot of fans at the moment it's a single bus / train ride to Hull and a walk up to the ground.
For example if junior goes with his mates bus is about £10 return, an hours journey (Unless he's conned me or other parents) - if it's to Brantingjam site another £10 and another 30-60 minutes on buses if there are any?
As we've seen over the last few years put barriers into attending and people drop out and rarely come back. Conversely make it easier (current away games) 'and they will come'.

The current site is ideal for most to attend, sort the problem of Walton Street / Fair out.

New training ground has more mileage for out of town, though not fit the 'Village' plan.

People are discussing the training facilities, nobody (as far as I’m aware) is proposing we move out of the stadium.

Regarding The Lawns, I read somewhere, might even have been the estate agent listing, that the accommodation blocks are Grade II listed, 1960’s architecture and all that, so that may be a problem for that site.

Back of Springhead golf course and down the parkway is masses of very accessible arable land with decent road links and access . Good location well out if the way
