Just been over on ja606, not a Bristol City fan on there, it seems a nice place, just like the old BBC, shame it's not well known,I think I might stick my nose in and support our cause a bit more frequent, just out of interest.:emoticon-0105-wink:

West Ham and Crystal Palace 'join the race to sign Bristol City's highly-rated midfielder Alex Scott'... but Premier League teams are 'reluctant to meet the 19-year-old's £20m valuation'
    • Alex Scott was linked with a transfer in January but move failed to materialise
    • The 19-year-old midfielder has continued to attract Premier League interest
    • However, West Ham and Crystal Palace are unwilling to pay £20m for Scott

It's almost a certainty that Alex could leave us in the summer and the fee could increase if he has an even better end to his season. Although I have no issue with these young guns going upwards in their dreams, but it is a great shame we don't have the status to retain some of the good players that have come and gone through the portals of Ashton Gate. Having to find new talent to fill the void created by high profile departures surely is not the best way to build a lasting football squad that can consistently be competitive and successful. However that is our lot in the football world and it is nice to watch the top leagues and point out that many players used to grace our home stadium. I wonder what sort of team we could put out there from the ones who have left over the last 15 years or so? Now there's a challenge for the well informed if ever there was one.

P.S. Any update on Rob or will we have to wait until Monday for news. I hope for us all that it isn't serious, because from the coverage I didn't see what really happened and it looked such an innocuous incident, but the stretcher is not usually a good sign.

'A disgrace' - Nigel Pearson furious with officials' treatment of Atkinson in Bristol City draw
The central defender suffered a suspected ACL injury during City's 1-1 draw with Sunderland after their 469-day wait for a penalty came to an end

That news is very sad and I wish him all the best in his recovery. I think we have good coverage and let's hope losing him doesn't affect our good run of results. I must confess I am disappointed that the club have not mentioned his injury on the website, which flies in the face of their supposed commitment to greater openness with supporters.

They save the news now for Nige to do his weekly briefings. Normally a Thursday unless a midweek game.
