I don't really understand all the anamosity towards NP. I would say he has slighlty more affiliation towards Leicester than us due to his longer stay and the success he had there. Both clubs are similar in stature. The major bearing behind his decision is the money and you can't really argue with that. He has worked on a tight budget for several years both with City and Leicester and now he will get the chance to go and spend some big money. Not to mention the fact they will be trebling his wage. He is in a win win situation, gets them promoted he is a hero and loaded due to contract and bonus. Doesn't get promoted, get's sacked and get's a bumper pay off and first in line for the next decent job that comes up.

I think we should be thanking him for helping lead us out of a very troubled time and putting together a very decent young squad that will help make the club a profit in transfer windows to come. Chester, Evans, Stewart and Rosenoir were all bought for peanuts yet will generate the club some serious money if we choose to sell in the future.

The future is looking a lot brighter and the club is a much more attractive proposition for a new manager.

Thanks for a glowing insight into your mindset. The choice for you is very simple, don't read it! I will give you a little tip, the clue is in the title!

I can't believe people keep saying that. If it was for a footballing reason no one would complain but because it's a backwards step just for the sake of adding more to his already unearthly salary, especially after some of the things he's said in the press, it justifies all anomousity towards him IMO.

Its not very often City have a manager poached is it ?
Makes a nice change than to be looking for the next manager to NEED pixie dust in his sheepskin jacket to help us scrape through the season.
IMO the great work that N.P has done since being here has made selecting a new name from the many names that litter managements wastelands far easier.

AP just needs to focus on getting a manager that has a similar approach to Nige' , our team can almost pick itself and just requires someone with half the amount of sense to get them organised how NP does - what i mean is , theres no masterstroke needed from the new guy to keep the club on course.

Personally the 3 i'd look to would be OGS , Joyce and Di Matteo - i dont want us to get any wiley old fox type , daddy knows best type or stubborn sod.
I dont see any of the three being too realistic to be fair , so it would be back to the roulette wheel for our man .

If I was in a job and was offered a new job for treble the pay I would take it in a shot.....unless I was City manager of course haha. But he isn't a City supporter so like I say there isn't much difference in his feelings between both clubs, in that case your bound to follow the money, I would think most people would.

It's all gone ****ed up Ben because someone missed a [/QUOTE] tag on the end of a post so everyone quoting that post or successive ones have quoted the wrong person.

That was a **** example yesterday and it's still a **** example. NP is not a minimum wage manual tradesman he is a football manager who is very lucky to have a talent that earns him more money than people with other talents. Trebling his salary will hardly make a difference to him and his family becuse they're already rich as ****, it'll just be a number in an account somewhere. If that immaterial number is more important to him than football then he's not the man he pretends to be.

You read through the brackets, love. So...Billy Davies and Dave Jones were DEFINITELY interviewed for the job and didn't get it.

    You mean you hope!

The only player I think Nige might have problems with is Beckford. And the way he's playing just lately he can f*** off anyway!

This is another bollocks thread. If it was a player everyone would have a paddy. Go ask a Sunderland fan what they think of Darren Bent, or think about how Fulham supporters reacted to Bullard leaving for us. Taking a backwards step in footballing terms just for the sake of more money is simply not acceptable. Yes if he was on a normal wage and this deal was going to change his life then yes it would be the choice anyone would make but the point is he is already super rich and this deal won't make a difference to his life it'll just stockpile somewhere. Nobody needs to move for money when they are on £300k a year anyway.

He seems to be leaving us and if he does, it's for more money pure and simple, that'd be acceptable if it was combined with other factors (i.e. big club, career move or something) but to go a job most managers are **** scared of and go to a worse team, just for that pointless wage rise is not something any football fan should condone. It's everything that's wrong with the modern game.

Add to that he's been going on all week about how irritating it is for him to be asked about speculation is just a big kick in the balls to all City fans, if he was staying and he made that clear then he would have a point but for him to say that and then leave a couple of days later (meaning the reporters were right to keep asking him) is just ****ish.
