Good Morning. It's Friday 17th February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Cresswell turned down permanent move to Coventry

Reports are surfacing that Charlie Cresswell turned down a permanent move to Coventry City in the January transfer window. Cressy, 20, is enjoying a season long long in Bermondsey. He's racked up almost 1500 minutes of game time, scored four goals, one assist, and has three man of the match awards.

Regarded as future Captain material by many in West Yorkshire, fans will be devastated that the Elland Road hierarchy didn't try to block the move. They try to portray themselves as an club who invest time and money in the futures stars of tomorrow, so why would they sell one of their rising stars for a few bucks.

Initially Cresswell agreed to the move, but changed his mind, citing he wanted to fight for his place at Elland Road next season.

    Ayling awarded twelve month extension

Luke Ayling has been awarded a twelve month extension on his contract which will keep him at Elland Road until the Summer of 2024. According to the official site, Leeds have triggered a clause in his contract to ensure he stays beyond the Summer when his original contract runs out.

Leeds fans feared for the 31yo vice-captain after the arrival of Rasmus Kristensen during the Summer, but the former Bristol City ace bode his time, and grabbed his opportunity with both hands. Interim Manager Michael Skubala is delighted with Aylings efforts both on and off the pitch, describing him as a great leader:-

"All the players are important but Luke is a great person. He's very professional, a great leader and a bit of a legend at the club. It's an important moment. He was brilliant in the two games against Man U." "I think it's important you have good leaders that support young players and do things the right way. Luke is one of them."

How secure is Skubala's interim role

Michael Skubala's tenure as first team coach could be shorter than Brian Clough's if Leeds don't beat Everton and Southampton in their forthcoming games. Leeds are just a point off the drop zone, and would swap places with the Toffee's should (God forbid) they lose tomorrow.

Whilst Skubala remains 8/15 favourite for the ER hot seat, Steven Gerrard has moved into second place at 4/1, followed very closely by Andoni Iraola, Nuno Espirito Santo and Gerardo Martino. Even Harry Redknapp is getting in on the act! At least Leeds have gone nowhere near Frank Lampard, who remains an 80/1 outsider.

Morning all from Manchester airpourto…. I reckon if a name of substance becomes available as an interim manager we will bring him in. If a better bloke becomes available to take over on a long term deal we bring him in. However the club have taken a gamble and hoping Skoobs gets some points on the board from the next 2 games and keeps it until the end of the season.

One thing that still annoys me is that Rodrigo a striker on fire gets crocked in a game he wasn’t needed to come on for. Bamford still struggling and we will never know if Rodders would have snapped up one of the chances missed. His goals have been key to keeping us out of the bottom 3 and like it or not we have missed him and his effort and goals. Maybe Rodrigo being used started the change of heart on Marsch

Also be interesting to see team selection because Struijk is fit, does Skoobs bring him in at LB or play an actual LB in Firpo

Not remotely looking forward to tomorrow but also determined not to let any negative result upset weekend too much. Really fed up with this season as much as the last one. Creswell right to hang on. If we go down, the likes of him and Roberts will be needed to put together a squad for next season

Roberts? He cant even stay fit for QPR he hasn’t been fit since we bought him and since 2018 he has only been on the field 101 games and only 18 times this season for QPR.. his scoring record is also pants with only 12 goals from 119 games, Rodrigo has scored more than that this season alone. Sorry as far as Im concerned he toxic

Marsch can't be blamed for giving Rodrigo a twenty minute run out.

Whilst I know it will never happen, if Redknapp came to the club, you could almost guarantee that he would appoint Fat Frank as his assistant:emoticon-0136-giggl

    Morning all.

Seems from yesterday's press conference there's a lot of collective thought going into how we approach games at the moment, with coaches and senior players deciding the best way forward.

So as I said last week very similar to what happened at Burnley last season, which worked in the short term and then untimately failed in the final run in.

Let's hope we at least have the initial pick up in results.

3-0 up, game won, crap pitch, bunch of cloggers, not required, only fit proper forward for a relegation battle ahead. Now I come to think of it, I’ve no idea why we sacked Marsch, his decision making seems sound <whistle>

By all accounts him and harrison were being sold by rads who needed the money to pay off The big jesse. Cresswell is a really good prospect and should be kept. Whereas harrison.......

Rodrigo would certainly have put one away I'm sure of it. Playing him in that cup game was a fatal mistake by Marsch.
