I absolutely believe we'd have had more points on the board with crap-era-Ralph than we have now. No doubt at all. Which doesn't mean we shouldn't have parted ways, but certainly reinforces the knowledge that we got in entirely the wrong person to replace him.
So, what are we expecting after the Chelsea game? The search to continue, or for them to announce Selles until the end of the season?
Depends completely on performance. I’d like to think they’re organising a manager regardless but I also don’t trust SR to be competent. If we beat Chelsea 2-0 or in any way comfortably then they’ll take the easy route and announce Selles.
Quite possibly. I mean it flies in the face of "wanting to act decisively and get a new person in the dugout before the Chelsea game" - it's an about-face to "we would be happy with Ruben, but we're going to take our time". Almost as if Ankersen and co are a bit all over the shop.
It’s almost like they are complete charlatans with zero clue how to run a premier league (or seemingly any league) football club.
We are in a very similar situation to when Mark Hughes was in charge in my opinion. Zero decisiveness or clear direction, just happy to see if this guy can do the job or not and won’t bother to try and rock the boat and get rid if they absolutely don’t have to regardless of how obvious of a bad choice it might be. As long as we are clinging on, that’s fine by the board. The ol’ wait and see approach. It’s like watching any boss I’ve ever had who bemoans having to go through the interview process for new staff cause effort init. As much as I could dislike Cortese he would not have stood for any of this ****.
Thing is, if this was the CEO of one of Solak’s telecoms companies, he wouldn’t be CEO any longer. Football is weird.
The manager I would love is Antoine Kombouaré. The work he has done at Nantes is unbelievable. I assume he won’t come now but maybe if we go all out in the summer. I think he would be a perfect fit based on his record
Here’s a thought. I wonder if the conclusion has been reached that neither Ankersen, nor Semmens, are to be trusted making any more managerial picks, and that they’re waiting until Wilcox arrives with Pep in the summer?
Strange that the board didn't notice Selles' "Dedication and detail in training" before employing Jones. Are they being economical with the truth?
Scenes. Wonder if they’ve even asked Ralph to come back. We are probably still paying him anyway. Would be a much better choice than this IMO.
How do you know Selles isn't up to the job? We obviously don't know that he is, but nor do we know he isn't unless he's given the chance.
