Be lucky 3.00 Ascot – Irish Hill (e/w) – generally 5/1 & Top 4 Places. A really progressive young hurdler who looks to still be ahead of the handicapper. A good winner at Taunton he followed up last time in a valuable handicap at Fakenham where he won with a good deal in hand having been sent for home plenty early enough. Up 6lbs for that, he was value for at least that and it’d be a surprise if he wasn’t very competitive again. 3.12 Wincanton – Knappers Hill – generally 15/8 Can be forgiven his last run as he isn’t at his best on soft ground and the combination of conditions and the trip found him out. He’s at his best on a decent surface as shown when an impressive winner over course and distance in November in the Kingwell. He could well dominate this small field as he did that day and prove very hard to pass. He has plenty of pace and this test is ideal for him. 3.58 Lingfield – Crystal Delight – 5/2 Bet365, Paddy Power, Betfair, generally 9/4 Formerly with Sir Michael Stoute, he won a novice race on his debut for new connections here before a fair 2nd at Newcastle in a race where he travelled well, but was outpaced in the closing stages by the winner. He’s bred to stay and will really appreciate this step up in trip.
