Thought this lot were very inward looking in their comments, no praise for a job well done by the away team, no best team won etc which I supposed I'm not surprised at really. What they should be grateful for is that we were unable to field our goalscoring CF cos it might have been a lot lot worse for them if we had
The question is when do you sell them, now, you can kick promotion into touch, close season, relegation will be staring us in the face before we have even kicked off. That’s why I believe 1 more season in the Championship won’t do us any harm at all.
I've said before on this self funding idea, certain players shouldn't be included as they play in an area where good players are harder and more expensive to find. Keeper and striker imo shouldn't be sold as they are so important and so easy to get wrong! We can see already we are buying players to compete with and eventually replace the better players in defence and midfield. I'd rather they didn't sell anyone if I'm honest but I know that's the model. If this team got promoted though I agree we have self sustained and no one should be sold for self funding for 3 seasons or so after that.
KLD can deal with that, he hasnt let us down so far. We have to trust him. I dont believe any club would or could turn down promotion to the premier league, even if we did come straight back down the parachute payments would be a massive game changer for us. Personally I think some of these players would thrive in the premiership and with a sprinkling of experience I think we would be fine. Im sure KLD & Co already know that
Fans keep talking about the wealth from getting promoted, £120 million + we would probably have to sell the whole squad to raise that, so are we not self sustained by just getting promoted?
The idea is that there is already an alternative replacement brought in to take over when a particular player is sold. It should in theory be like a conveyor belt. The proof will be in the pudding of course. It’s a great idea if it works and beats losing 30 odd million pound a season and going bankrupt
I was surprised by QPR as I thought they would play a bit more football. Critchley is a coach who has a good reputation for it. As it turned out they were pretty direct and in your face. They wanted to hit Chris Martin and play from there but against Ballard and Baath it was a poor tactic, and Martin doesnt have the technical ability really to trouble us. 10 years or so ago Critchley was picked by the FA as one of the most talented young coaches in England. They put them through a so called Elite Coaches badge which was meant to be the first cohort. It was never repeated. If you look at those that went through that many are still coaches but only he has gone on to first team head coach standard. I have no idea what any of the means by the way!
Genuinely think we'll get 7 points minimum from that. We should be beating Luton at home. Norwich and Sheff U are both winnable but draws not the worst results, and Burnley away realistically is probably a loss.
From a QPR fan write up... "Moany Towbray brought a bright, young, creative, attacking team to Loftus Road, furnished by a clever and purposeful recruitment operation that’s brought together an exciting group of promising prospects from Premier League academies, Europe and Latin America. QPR brought a big bucket of **** and a whisk." https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...thing-about-a-massacre-on-february-14--report
