You realise football is about entertainment right? It’s not all about results, I’d like to watch entertaining attacking football.
We all do, but unless you're man City or Barcelona you've also got to be realistic. City are about as entertaining now as the majority of our 118 year existence.
Probably more so than for a lot of it. Probably more so than the majority of the current 72 EFL clubs also. Dunno if you've noticed, but most games in this wonderful sport are actually decided by the odd goal, and are quite tight, often cagey affairs.
Arsenal were very happy when they won things 1-0 under George Graham. We would get bigger crowds if we were top of the table winning 1-0 than we would losing 4-3 every week and down at the bottom of the table.
Off your topic but pal e pro was at Blunts last night and he said Boro were very very good , as strong as the blunts with better shape and football - let’s hope we are prepared in a few weeks time
Difficult game as it usually is at Boro. Looks like they've finally hit their straps after underachieving for years. But let's face it, they weren't re establishing themselves at this level 12 months ago having just been taken over and it's been a long time in the making for them. They are a prime example really of how championship success is rarely instant - and they'll still probably **** up the playoffs like they usually do.
I like Rosenior a lot as a player, coach and person but his decision to play Woods and Seri as a centre mid pairing was woeful. Maybe he thought having two creative players in there would counter Norwich but it didn’t. He needs to play Doc or Simons alongside Seri from now on until we sign a defensive midfielder.
I wonder how much he felt he needed to freshen things up with a 3 game week. Agree Woods and Seri are too similar to be an ideal partnership in the same midfield - that said lack of any real consistency (Oscar excepted) in attacking areas is still the main issue for me. If he can get a settled side up top and out wide like we have had in the back 4 and midfield 2 (generally speaking), then that's likely when we'll see greater consistency in our attacking threat.
Jeees MO..... Woods and Seri are about as similar as Camembert and Chocolate. Ones good the other is awful..
Thanks for your insight. Who was it that said 'Woods is a pound shop Seri and should only play If Seri isn't available?' No one would say Woods is better than Seri but they both try to do the same things and want to be in the same position. Either would benefit from a strong, physical midfielder next to them - which we don't have unless you count an inexperienced kid who's barely played in Simons.
No, we're about 7th on form since rosenior has come in as opposed to the worst defence in the efl and losing every week before. Apparently some found that more 'exciting'.
I thought we might have seen a bit more of Simons, he was talked up quite a bit during Jan. Not even made the bench recently.
Think he's seen more as one for the future as opposed to oven-ready. Only going to get harder to get on the bench with the return of Benji, Pelkas, Ali, Traore, Connolly coming back and hopefully Ebiowei starting to get sharper.
