Inept performance at Bristol City followed by a dominate win over Hull, at home! First home win for ages (October?) and without Pukki.
Is that appearances or starts ? I heard Rob Butler mention it, the point being Pukki is the first name on the sheet every game even during our horrible runs. He's had no competition other forwards are selected to accommodate his game. 4th highest scorer in history he's a legend but we need a plan B
Must be 3 or 4 times? I’m sure Sarge had a run of 3 games up from which put him in his scoring form and then last nights game
Pukki's league appearances as of today are 26 starts plus three from the bench (out of 31 league games played). Cup appearances are 1 start and 1 from the bench. Total appearances 31.
So that's unbeaten In the 5 he didn't start & an average of a goal every 2.9 games that he featured In
Tactical analysis of the Hull game as clear progress is being made: https://www.pinkun.com/news/23325363.norwich-city-tactical-analysis-hull-city-championship-win/
"But there is no denying Hull's setup helped Norwich. A lack of pressure on City's build-up gave McLean and Sara many chances to show their quality and dictate the game. Hull made it far too easy for Norwich to play out from the back. The task for David Wagner is to improve his sides ability to escape a well organised, intense press. Hull didn't test that ability." The lack of Hull pressure also allowed Hanley and Omobamidele to play much higher up the pitch, something I've been calling for all season. It's not exactly "brave" to hold a high line against a team that isn't trying to press high and force you backwards!
